Obviously it would be a good thing for the club to start running at a profit & have over & above the projected cash flow but would this ever come at the price of progression through the leagues? or will the board want a firm footing financially before they look to invest too much in the team? (thats based on a pessimistic view that the NL could be a hard league to crack)

We are absolutely not in any position to take financial risks in the future - there is no magic bailout fund and no rich chairman to chuck money in if things go wrong.
Success on the pitch would hopefully bring along more fans, gain new CIC members and encourage more sponsorship.
When voting start for the board members, I for one will only vote for people who have sound financial ideas.

I personally agree with that completely... I think moving steadily through the leagues would be the right ambition & not just look to be back where the club was with consecutive promotions as like you suggest this could lead to possible financial risks needing to be taken which is what has the club in this position. With a season of surplus budget this could allow a steady improvement in playing staff & avoid boom or bust tactics by certain ex chairmen.

a surplus would be difficult given the fact we are not allowed in the FA Cup. That could have been a great money spinner.

How do you know this? Please can you provide us with your projections for next seasons annual income and annual expenditure? Breakdowns of predicted season ticket sales income, match day income (on the day tickets sales, food, beverages, programmes etc), also shirt and player sponsorship, income from fans funds raisers, incoming transfer fees, etc.

Then we'll need your projections for all outgoing money, wages, ground rental fee's, travel, insurances, provisions for paying of debts from the 'old' club etc.

Next please provide cashflow projections for the impact that not taking part in this seasons FA Cup will have on end of year 'profit and loss' and 'balance sheet' which enabled you to reach your conclusion.

Or did you just type the first (and daftest) thing that came into your head?

You have to love forums....
....started off as a discussion about Darlo having financial stability and ends up discussing (Troll vs non-troll) the financial status of DMPRFC....

6 degrees of separation..what can we move onto next? I know!!!
Curses....on you go now :) :)

Fair point, I've moved the Mowden Park rfc chatter to its own thread; Anyone wanting to continue that conversation please head off there.
