Sean Gregan will be a defensive coach. Tony Norman will be a goalkeeping coach and Harry Dunn will be chief scout.

Meanwhile, Martin Gray has signed a two year contract.

Thats great news and all, but but doesn't having a defensive coach at Northern league level seem a little excessive? Still if we can afford it then great, Im guessing/hoping Gregan is still well capable of still doing a job at the back.

Also whats going to happen with Mcready and Phil Gray, if theres no offers for them will they stay with us if there on FT contracts?

Fuck me, isn't this a bit of overkill, can we afford all of those wages?

As for Gregan, will he also play, and has he been offered the position that Gray talked with Alan White about?

On paper the appointments sound great but can we afford all these coaches? Also will Gregan be player coach?

Quakerz. Only Hodgson left from my list yesterday. Maybe he is contributing to pay for these.

Have you heard something or just guessing? If Hodgy came back in any role the boost it would create would be immense!

On paper, all solid appointments. I wonder if Gregan is still capable of playing?

It's nice to be talking about football issues again!!

Good grief ..... I hope we aren't entering a summer of questioning 1883's financial nouse. We want bloody promotion. This is exactly the start we need. Get the big guns in and lets go!!!!. They won't be all on full time wages anyway. In fact they all have other incomes (including Gray). Get behind them lads or jump ship, while you still can. This is no place for faint hearts.

Trust in 1883. This is a fantastic start ....

If Gregan has the job does that mean taet White has turned it down, or was his Twitter really a comment on a general conversation rather than a job offer? I'd love White to come back as a player mind.

Good call all round - Martin Gray has a coaching academy and it seems he is drawing on all the resources he has available.
Lets hope Mr Gregan can pull on a pair of boots for us!
It will be interesting to hear the details of this - hopefully there will be a press conference very soon?

Harry Dunn knows Northern League inside out. Bloody good coach too. Two jobs for price of one. Hard luck to Spike hope your fit enough to play for us, should you want to and the Management wish to sign you as a player. Actually excited for first time in years

Yep seems like Martin Grays academy is going to be doing a lot of DFC work as well.

Looking on his website good old Adam Reed is a physio now for Boro and the Academy. I bet we see him on occasions as well.

Yep given Gray's coaching pool at his disposal it was a no brainer. Add to that the profile he already has in the community for his coaching and his affiliation to the club and it looks like a winner to me.

Would be nice to see Alan White back at the club in some way, and if Graeme Lee fancies it alongside Arnison, i'll windmill into next week.

I'm sure it's all in the financial plan, I can't believe I am starting to look forward to next season already even if NL/Evo

Isn,t it great that we are all starting to talk about a new manager, assistant, coaches and which players will be making up the 7 or 8 already lined up.This is what it's all about, it has been god knows how longsince we were doing this on this board. If only we can get the FA to place us in the Evostick IF we were to give them the golden share Raj has promised, then that would be fantastic, if not then lets get cracking in the Northern League.Just EMailed Karen to keep my £100, onwards and upwards.

Did you invest through a cash share rather than crowdcube?

Where has Gregan been recently and has he been playing? I usually follow where ex Darlo players are in the NL but he has slipped under my radar.

He was at Kendal Town but became far too fat to play after 2 matches. Or got injured. One or the other.

Wasn't he at Oldham a year or so back?
