Merchandising ideas

Post by Bogratsteve » Mon May 07, 2012 9:45 pm

It may be helpful to the persons tasked with creating a list of stuff to sell Darlo branded in the shop/online if we get suggestions of what people want to buy

For me it would include
Home & Away shirts
Benny Hat
Baseball cap
Scarf

what about the rest of you and what would you want printed/embroidered on them I.e. Darlo DFC1883 etc

How about a plain white t-shirt with a picture like this:

And put in writing "Bought by the fans; For the fans!"

Good ideas, I suspect the club will need to keep number of lines limited for a year or two to save holding stock value of slow moving lines so feed back should help them and possible designs..... gonna add a mug to my list!

Definitely a mug! Apart from the usual, it would be good to have stuff that kids can spend pocket money on, stuff for a couple of quid. Pens, pencils, etc. Obviously only if there's a good enough margin on them.

Definitely pens and pencils for the kids (and adults!) but cheap and cheerful rather than the expensive stuff that the old club shop had.
Also for a bit of a gimmick I once bought a bar of rock from an away game from the little coffee hut with the football club name running through it. It was cheap (about 30 - 40p) and the kids were going mad for it cos it was a bit different!

The only scarves we should sell are quakerlady's - good quality and reasonable price

I'd certainly buy one as long as it was simple enough i.e. plain badge, and not tacky.

Yes, I suggest a retro mug with an old time image encrypted. I've got one with an old Blackburn photo encrypted.. Love to have one with Feethams or Craig Liddle but then I am a hopeless romantic. Another possibility is a photo book - 1883 and beyond - although it may have been donel Sort of captures the mood.

These things help market the club in quite a subtle way. Although i must admit I'm getting sick of being asked about the how mags did since buying the scarf.

A DFC toaster, a bit like this one...

...except it brands the face of Lidds onto your toast.

Brown paper bags like the ones Darlo Pete wears to home matches, but with the Darlo badge on them.

Introducing...

Limited Edition DFC Bankruptcy Buckaroo!

Image

- Laiden the poor DFC mule with businessmen... but look out! At some point he won't be able to take it anymore!

- One of the businesmen is inevitably going to cause the club to fold. But which one will it be?

- You play as 'the fans', and when the club folds you'll have to pick up the pieces and start again.

- Play with all your favourites from over the years, including Reynolds, Brearley, Houghton and co.

- Suitable and relevant for all supporters from ages 1 - 80 years of age.

- Contains small parts. Many of which are toxic and hard to swallow.
