If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Back in January when Doug and Shaun saved us at the 13th hour, myself and many others joined in the feelgood factor to save Darlington F.C.
The thought of forming a phoenix club was an anathema.
I hope and pray that 1883 will still succeed, but there comes a limit to just how much
more we have to take from our former chairman.
He walked out on the club, is it now time for us to call his bluff.
I invested in the belief that Singh would walk away with nothing if a community club could be formed. Three months on and he is still pulling all the strings in our attempt to save DFC.
We are going to be relegated, how far we don't know. Still with debts to pay over three years.
Is it better to be playing in Evostick Prem with debt ,or a couple of divisions lower totally solvent .
I hope we survive but am very sceptical now. Don't want my money back if we fail, that now goes to a phoenix club if necessary.
Chester City were liquidated in March 2010, haven't stopped winning since they reformed as Chester FC. A gate of over 5000 on Easter Monday.
But the most important thing was that Chester were allowed to carry forward 125 years of history under their new name.
Food for thought there.

If we are in the Evostik, it will be without any debt!
Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Aye have to agree with you, as there is no way DFC can carry on with Raj s debt hanging over us for ever. Just imagine the interest he would want on top of the debt if we were to ever make a profit it would just be hoovered up paying off Raj`s wonger/payday loan.tinshedender wrote:Back in January when Doug and Shaun saved us at the 13th hour, myself and many others joined in the feelgood factor to save Darlington F.C.

I think its all coming to a head, have to admit I cant see any way but liquidation.
If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
I'd take a couple of levels down with no debt and a slightly different name,
Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Obviously you've not been reading up ted.
We would have no debt if we don't agree a CVA, though this would mean a further relegation.
Suppose in the Evostik, we'd HAVE to model a part time team too, so with no debt it's a good time to restructure.

Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Your right I am not up to speed on the CVA, so can we shake off Raj forever without going bust and starting againQuakerz wrote:Obviously you've not been reading up ted.

Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Apparently so, though we'd take a relegation.
Basically by paying the creditors fully, (yet still having to ask Raj to waive 800k) and submitting to money losing clauses, it seems almost like "buying" a BSN place for 500k or so which is roughly the level of debt. Yet we can have an Evostik place (I hope) for free.
We should have told Raj to go and fuck himself months ago.

It is possible.
1883 have plans regarding not agreeing the CVA.
But it will mean a further relegation.

You beat me to it Q!
Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Right now I would take that as we need to have a goal to aim for. At the moment I have know idea what our goal is or how we are to achieve it. This is after investing my own money, fund raising and pouring money into 1883, absolutely no idea what's going on.Quakerz wrote:Apparently so, though we'd take a relegation.

I think its being made up as we go a long anything can happen and people who I have never heard of in my 30 years of supporting DFC keep popping up and going over old ground.
Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
Presumably this will be done by transferring the football share to the newco and winding up the old company?Fibonacci0112358 wrote:ted_do wrote:Your right I am not up to speed on the CVA, so can we shake off Raj forever without going bust and starting againQuakerz wrote:Obviously you've not been reading up ted.

Is that even possible?

Didn't realise this was an option . . I thought it was agree a CVA or go pop for good?
Can we sack off Raj's debt be penalised with an extra relegation and then use the money raised through 1883 to go into the debt-free slate clean part time DFC then? Bring on games against Prescott Cables if so. . . .

Do we still have to pay off the other creditors in full though? I don't know, just asking?StevieMardenboro wrote:Quakerz wrote:Apparently so, though we'd take a relegation.

Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
I couldn't support a team that owed that b****** money.
I invested £100 in the first wave of shares. I won't invest another penny, either in shares, bucket collections or tickets if we are paying Raj.
I'll wish the new club well and all, but my financial support will end there. I'd take Northern League Pheonix Club over BSN debtridden club.
If I'd known this was coming I'd never have bought one share. I feel kinda stupid for doing so now.
F**K him off. We dont need him anyway, and who knows... in 15 years time, we might be able to rise through the leagues, get permission to redevelop the ground for our own use and we can all point and laugh!

Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
I meant if somehow he gets clauses accepted and we end up handing anything to him in the future.charlie wrote:We havnt got the money to pay Raj DL_Fourteen
Actually since I wrote that rant, I have seen that RS has said (for what its worth) that he won't be claiming any of the share money.Which makes me feel a little better.
Truth is like everyone else, I'm running out of patience with the whole thing. I'm sure Harvey, 1883 and many of us feel the same.
Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
End of the day, we need to boot this fucker out of the picture, for better or worse.
I'm liking McKenna's attitude at the moment of "whatever Raj decides - we WILL carry on forward, one way or another"
This is a strong, undefeatist attitude, that the fans need to get behind.
Do what you like Singh!

Echo this!
I don't hear any fat lady yet.
Re: If the Worst Comes To The Worst.
I think the fans patience has snapped. We've been hanging onto his every word, will he won't he, for months.
It can't go on any longer.

I now believe that all fans are united behind 1883 for the first time.
Stuff the weasel with forked tongue.
We are DARLINGTON and always will be, long after he's f****d off with not one penny.
