I don't see why we released him. He spent years showing promise as a youngster, had a good season followed by a bad one which smacked a little of expecting too much too soon from him.

Another bad decision from Cooper I'm afraid. Leaving Darlo was definitely the best thing that happened to him lI

I put it down to the fact that unless a striker is as good as Gabbiadini or Abbott, he will never get an easy ride from the perfectionists in the stands. Main had the ability but he was young and inconsistant and just needed a bit of patience to be shown by these people in the crowd and also the management, something that Boro obviously have done.

I'm glad he was released, otherwise playing in this relegation team may have ruined him, and he would t have kept us up.

Agreed. However Cooper didn't even give him the chance to go to Wembley.

Still, Quakerz said he was s*** ..............

NO, I didn't.

I called his poor games poor, criticised him no worse than anybody else, and the worst I ever really said about him was that he never looked like scoring - which he didn't.

We need to stop this Quakerz said Main was s*** nonsense for once and for all.

It was SMITH who I said was s***.

Quakerz is right in the majority of games Main didn't look like scoring but there was definitely something there which hopefully Boro can unlock

Main is shite. Sick of my smoggie mates rhyming on that he is the great white hope!
He is shite! End of! One goal in eight just like broughton and he is shite!

He got too big for his boots.

Face it, we are fulhams feeder club and they didn't want him!

Call me what you will but better players have scored less goals than him!

With the midfield boro have I could score!
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!

Curtis Main won't be the first player to be finished by a low ranking team only to reappear later on at a better club. The issue I have is the way Cooper treated him. Curtis obviously has the talent, why couldn't Cooper bring out the best in him?

Mind you, Cooper had problems bringing out the best in nearly all the players at the start of this bloody awful season. The away game at Cambridge was an eye opener in this respect.

I was just thinking today when viewing how crud Bath were - how the fucking hell could we have lost 2-0 at Bath without getting a shot on target with our best, and supposedly promotion chasing, team?

Cooper seriously lost it, and no wonder Raj threw his toys out of the pram, he was getting robbed.

Don't get me going on Mr Raj. What an utter disaster his time at the helm turned out to be.

Well played Michael Smith, couldn't fault his effort tonight...

Main didn't play well for us. He needed a reserve team to get some games, goals and confidence which he got at Boro.

He was thrown in too much and too early with us and suffered in confidence and performances as a result.

He always had talent but didn't get the proper coaching at Darlo in order to realise his potential.

I think we were right to release him when we did because we didn't have the resources to make him into a good player. Shame

Good luck to the lad, nice to hear that he's doing well for himself.

I thought we were far too hasty to let him go at 18. He didn't have the best of times last season, but then most of our strikers struggled with Cooper's hoofball.

It's a shame to see a homegrown talent slip through our fingers due to poor management. But you have to say it's worked out fantastically well for him. If he'd stuck around he'd be on his way down to part-time football, probably with our load of our dickhead squeeky-voiced teenager 'hardcore' fans on his back each game.

One thing that's changed dramatically with Curtis is his physique. He was young and weak whilst with us and now he's built like a brick shithouse!

It's seemingly really helped his game, good luck to him.

Ithink you will find that curtis has scored twice for boro and secured 6 points in their promotion push

Liddle knew how to manage him
Mowbray knows how to manage him

Cooper did not...Cooper was not a manager of people

A lot of boro fans are moaning cos Mowbray "hasn't played Main enough , given our lack of goals" , but i reckon he's got it about right.
Everytime time he comes off the bench , he either scores or gives the team (and supporters) a lift.
Very , very impressed with the lad.

Good luck to Darlo by the way

To manage people, you need to have regular contact with them and you need to know what makes them tick.

Cooper was only in Darlo 2 or 3 days of the week so didn't get to know his charges, His wage was a waste of money and reinforces Quakerz' view that Raj was being robbed.
Alun's promise to the fans: “I’ll make sure I’ll bring players in that are value for money and I want players that want to play for Darlington Football Club, want to progress and move up the league and show the fans that passion.”

Cooper pulled the wool over my eyes, at one point I thought he was the dogs nads...

But looking back, I think he stumbled on the 4-4-2 diamond by accident, and once we couldn't play it anymore due to player changes, he reverted to the god awful football from before that.

Also, he seemed to use other clubs interest in him to strengthen his position here.
