Who wants to be a moderator?
Who wants to be a moderator?
I've decided to step back from moderating the board. Since my daughter was born I don't get near my computer as often as I used to and I mostly browse the board using my phone, where I can't really moderate as effectively. Sure, I can go on it using my computer at work but I think they'd rather I used my time a little more productively
Not only that, I'm probably too soft to be a moderator anyway. I've let far too much stuff go through either not dealing with it or just letting it slide. So, once I've finished dealing with the latest mess some of you lot have caused, I'll be seeking someone a bit more active to take my place.
I realise I haven't had to face half as much s*** as some of the people around here (I haven't had any chairpeople on my doorstep, for example, and I certainly haven't had as many e-mails / letters threatening to sue me for every penny I have - which wouldn't be much) but I'm just trying to do what's best for the board.
With someone a little more watchful minding the place it hopefully won't get to the point where the solicitors are watching because any post which might put them on alert will be dealt with more swiftly.
I will continue to host the site and may even post every once in a while but otherwise, this particular officer of the thought police is handing in his badge for now.
Please use this thread to nominate yourselves - or others. Once enough of you have put yourselves forward I will set up a poll (which will be the ultimate decider - so don't all rush to nominate the same person in here) and we will let democracy decide who gets my chair.

Re: Who wants to be a moderator?
So would I.
Re: Who wants to be a moderator?
I'd have thought that site admin did the banning and Mods would be more the role of deleting shyte.Free_Transfer wrote:I'd do it, but i'd just ban every fucker that argued with me...

Arise Darlo_Pete, the only man for the job.
For a different angle DC could do it, he wouldn't be able to ban anyyone otherwise he would go against his 57 years of fighting for free speech.

First of all - A very big thanks to MikkyX for all his work on this Board - he has put in a vast amount of work and the success and popularity of this Board has got a lot to do with him.number_one wrote:Arise Darlo_Pete, the only man for the job.

Thanks Mate
Regarding myself being a Moderator - no way.
Yes - I do believe in free speech, but then It would probably lead to the Board being sued, because I would name names and publish what I believed was the truth, but also ban Fascists, Tories and obviously Gooners, - it would become the "Private Eye" of DFC. !!

Started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left.

No, I'm saying that because mods generally need to get their facts right, and you don't.Jazz Maverick wrote:You're only saying that because I'd immediately ban all humourless, thick as pig s***, nerdy virgins.jjmick wrote:No, you really fucking wouldn't.Jazz Maverick wrote:I wont lie - Id be a fucking brilliant moderator.

You'd also ban anyone you don't like which would mean this board would only consist of you, and you alone.
