Re: Chelsea..
Goes to show though the have's and have not's.
Chelsea paid just over £13 Million to get him from Porto in June last year. Give him a 3 year contract and sack him 9 months later, so let hazard a guess at somewhere in region of £20-£25 Million gone out of the English game in 9 months. Could keep most of League 1 , League 2 and the BSP teams all put together for a season. Average of about £280,000- £350,000 a club based on those 2 figures.

Re: Chelsea..
didnt avb have a good payout coming if he got sacked.
its ridiculous, no doubt megson got a couple of million comp and they were 3rd. then theres lee clark 4th and had a great unbeaten run, i bet he got a few quid out of it.
they either go on sky for a bit or walk into another job. money for nowt

And? they are in the elite of their profession and like any other job at the top they are very well rewarded, people shouldn't be bitter and should instead try and get the same job.quakerray wrote:didnt avb have a good payout coming if he got sacked.

For the record AVB had to go, Megson had a poor record on good resources and called his boss a c*** and Clark simply was not delivering what he was asked to do after spending several million.

Re: Chelsea..
a lot of teams would love to be 5th in the premier league and they are playing the best teams in europe. megson got them 3rd in the league, cant do much better than that, and clark got them 4th and has not long brought them off a 40 odd game unbeaten run.
and theres kean at blackburn cant get sacked by the looks of it.

Re: Chelsea..
But Chelsea aren't a Team with the objective of finishing 5th, they must be in the top 4 for the CL but more importantly are a Team expected to challenge for the title, irrespective of their position the football on offer has been appalling.quakerray wrote:a lot of teams would love to be 5th in the premier league and they are playing the best teams in europe. megson got them 3rd in the league, cant do much better than that, and clark got them 4th and has not long brought them off a 40 odd game unbeaten run.

Megson could of course done better, they could have been 1st or 2nd, before they beat Utd they had gone 7 without a win or if you prefer had 2 wins in 11, not good in a division they could have won.
As has been much publicised Clark spent nearly £8m in League 1, he didn't know his best 11, the fans were sick of very poor football and a lot of the unbeaten run was made up of draws, again a manager like Megson with a remit to get promotion which is unlikely, he is lucky he had Rhodes.
As for Kean, the owners can't afford (literally) to sack him, they as much said that.
