Could they have not made it stewards only game, I'm sure some clubs do that. It may have included asking for suitable qualified volunteers but surely possible.

Absolutely, that is what some of their fans are saying. They reckon ther'll be no trouble at all. The police are owed about 17k in unpaid bills so have got a cob on about it. Some of the fans have spent 2 days clearing the snow so they are really upset. Main focus of their anger is Ladak

I sent a little note wishing them the best as they are fundraising. Suggested the schools event we did but it looks crap for them to be honest.

I'm guessing that aside from the few hundred people who turn up for games, the other 50'000 people who live in Kettering and pay their taxes to fund the police would be less than happy if something happened to them but couldn't be assisted straight away cause they were working for free somewhere else.

I thought basically the police could in theory work 'over-time' but not claim they're over-time so it would be staff that would normally be off that could offer their time. This would not cost the rest of the tax paying public of Kettering any dis-service as these Policemen would not normally have been on duty. Obviously they would have to find enough policemen willing to do this.

I assumed this was the way we did it anyway?

you can't say greedy...it would be nice if they would but it should never be an expectation!

I don't think there is much goodwill with unpaid bills of 17k accumulated over time. I don't know the situation, just what I read on poppynet.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

I suppose the problem is that the police force would have to sanction that the staff could work for free and still be covered by insurance etc. I guess. There may not be an additional direct cost to the Police but as you say with £17k outstanding then I don't know if they will be that keen to offer that help. I am sure the actual policemen that worked on the days won't really have qualms about it they will have been paid but it will be upto the bosses.

Easy way to get the police in for free, just say its a Kettering BNP Appreciation Society social event starting with a march from Kettering centre to Rushden!

Given that they play in Rushden now i would guess that it has little to do with the Kettering tax payers but of more concern to the Northampton population!

Yes that's right, greedy bastards, how dare they. I think that you need to remember that, if working on a voluntary basis, the officers won't be covered by insurance and stuff like that. It takes one brainless idiot to hoy over a glass bottle at a copper's head and that's that.

What's the difference between dibble working for free or reduced pay and our players?

You did have plenty to say before, but like I've just said, well done for seeing the light.

I'm still not on the same page on you here. When did I ever say that there was/wasn't a difference between officers working for free and our players playing for free?

Doesn't matter now anyway, match is off due to a frozen pitch. Before it was postponed they were even saying our directors wouldn't be allowed in. Just aswell it was postponed as i think they would have faced further penalties from the conference
