BBC Tees
BBC Tees
Been listening all day and the coverage has been superb (again). Wonder if any other stations would have provided the coverage we have had for their local non-league side?
First song after the announcement.... Alive and Kicking, superb

Re: BBC Tees
Last 2 songs Alive & Kicking and that Chumba Wumba song, you know "I get knocked down but I get up again". Great!
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
Re: BBC Tees
Scott could do much worse than repeat the songs they have had on John Foster's show, tbh

Re: BBC Tees
agreed with all above - an incredible coverage and support offered by BBC Tees. How can the BBC consider cutting local radio when you see what it has to offer

Re: BBC Tees
Just before noon they played "Don't Stop Believing". Then within ten minutes I was sat at my desk in tears, shattered at the news coming through on Twitter and on Tees. The coverage until 2pm when I had to go in a meeting was absolutely first class, if the most bizarre and twisted I could ever hear.
I'm still shaking typing this, but if ever there was a time to stand up and be counted it was shown today by BBC Tees, Peter Barron & the Echo, Jenny Chapman, Shaun Campbell, Doug Embleton, the rest of DFCRG, DFC Supporters Club, The TRUST, Lidds, The players, especially Harvey Madden... The list goes on.
If ever there was proof a community WANTED a football club, then today it was shown in spades. Ok, a bit last minute but right now, who cares.
I cannot emphasise enough the gratitude and debt I owe these people for saving my football club.
You are my Darlo
My only Darlo
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You never notice
How much I love you
DON'T EVER TAKE MY DARLO AWAY

Oh my God. Just listening to Lidds, the guy is SO focused on what he needs to do, it's just unbelievable. I'm lost for words.
