John Hall has bought Darlo, the stadium and the land, and installed Kevin Keegan as manager.

Is that it?

I've heard that St James Park is being renamed the Sports Direct Arena, which would certainly be gasp-worthy if true.

Part of the "new" Debenhams (formerly the Northern Echo) is going to be dedicated to selling Newcastle United match day tickets and there will be a free bus laid on (there and back) ... two, if demands are high. If you buy two tickets you get the third for free and a match day ticket for "The Falcons" or "Durham Vipers" next match (with more free lifts there and back subsidised by Darlington Borough Council in partnership with the Northern Echo (York or wherever it is these days).

Darlo to be bought out by Hartlepool, and merged into one club, called Darlingpool United.

Newcastle fans do my head in. They twist about nothing. So fuck, they may renaming their ground but Mike Ashley is putting a lot of money into that club. The least the club can return is a bit of sponsorship and recognition by his own business. Can always be renamed St James Park when he sells the club!

Is that the news that will have north east footy fans gasping?

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

States NE footie fans and not specifically Darlo so could be anything.
Didnt think PB gave 2 hoots about us anyway as he would have mentioned Darlo instead of NE.

NE footie fans in breath holding contest to raise money for Darlo, that would create a gasp or two.

So why is it "Embargoed til midnight" ?
Can only think it has something to do with either:

A - The stock exchange (Newcastle, Sunderland) as cannot announce anything after trading has finished so excludes us out.

B - S&S have come into the frame with an offer to RS for the club

C - Legal implications being verified as we speak concerning one of the clubs.

The only other thing is that it may be to do with Poolie's financial status and the way IOR Ltd's stock has been performing.
They may have decided to pull out leaving Hartlepool in limbo

Only my thoughts

Several NUFC Twitter accounts have said there's an embargoed press release regarding the stadium renaming - as has the Chronicle / Journal. Has to be that.

Maybe the remaining members of the squad have locked themselves in the arena in protest at having to be sold to Hartlepool

Midnight embargos are very common so morning papers like the echo can get news in on deadline. It sounds like this might be right. I'd only gasp at the sheer triviality of this shut myself, though. Get over it geordies, it's fuck all in the scheme of things.
