i totally agree cattermole very good comparison!
he doesnt seem get in situations to head ball loves get down and play which is great to see aswell.
we definitley need some change but i feel chandler is driving force and few otehrs like hime is what we need. hes a local lad from north east and understand us as the fans desire and commitement which is great to see.

Best ever loan signing ?!! Good player tho.
I guess it depends on your age but for me Gary Pallister was the best by some distance.

Kevin Kyle!? I seem to remember he did nothing apart from one stunning strike at Feethams (against Mansfield maybe?). Chandler is good, but not the best ever. Wainy was on fire when he was here on loan. Wheater was a class loan signing too.

Agree with Wheater.

Kasper Schmeical was a good one too.

I may be slightly biased Billy Clarke wise.
I was at Macclesfield away.
He was s*** hot.

Great shout on McCarrison . . Also Kyle Lafferty is worth a mention, certainly ahead of Kevin Kyle.

McCarrison is a great shout, just for ripping Pools apart in the early 90's....

I was there too, will never forget that game.

I was also at many other games last season where he blew very hot and cold. ;)

Wheater, Lafferty and Schmeichel for me, though Ben Parker did a decent job too, as did Miller when he was on loan from Ipswich.

Saying that, we've had come right gash on loan too, Matt Green anyone?

Kevin Kyle  Don't make me laugh. Now it's confirmed that you know nowt about footy, Mr Coops!!

For the record, and off the top of my head, I'd go for Wheater, Schmeichel and Tommy Butler.

Thomas Butler was very good on loan.

And don't forget super Robbie Painter was a bit special when he joined on loan initially. So good in fact the club splashed out something around 25k to sign him permanently.

Kevin Kyle? Fuck off!

Thomas Butler was the best in my opinion.

They have. 4th post down.

Wheater, Caldwell, Liddle, Bernard - we tend to do better with defenders on loan than forwards.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Having not seen Chandler play yet, I can't comment on him but over the last 6 or 7 years that I've been following the club I'd say Wheater, Schmeichel and Hatch impressed me the most. Lafferty and Bates were pretty good too.

I'm surprised Tiny Taylor hasn't been mentioned, if memory serves me correct we didn't concede a goal in the time he spent with us

I assume that everyone who hasn't mentioned Craig Liddle has either forgotten or was unaware that he was on loan before he signed.

Of players who haven't gone on to sign for us, I thought Lafferty was quality.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

One of the best was John Reed a winger from Sheff. utd.
wish we had signed him,
went back to utd and did nothing.

Kavangh from the boro was poor showed nothing, just like Porrit
a waste of a loan.

best till last ..Lylod Maithland superb when he joined on loan, one of the
best performances in a Darlo shirt.
shame he got injured was never the same again, played on
but then got run over by one of our players[his fat ,his round he bounces of the ground
.....................]which ended his career.
a wasted talent,great shame.
