Jose Mourinho or Sir Alex Ferguson
DARLO FANATIC
Supporting DARLO might be a heartache but it's a heartache I chose to have.

That's hilarious i wish i'd thought of that.
A little more realistic would be Peter Jackson or Stuart Gray but at the minute we're stuck with Colin Todd so lets start this conversation again if he ever departs.

Re: Suggestion for new manager
Looks as though Penney and Gray will be available pretty soon. Oldham in the drop zone and fans calling for his head.

i dont think it will happen, but if penney does get sacked then i love it if he returned, its very doubtful, but we could always hope.

Re: Suggestion for new manager
next manager will be Curtis Flemming.
Re: Suggestion for new manager
If I'm right, I think that Raj was quoted as saying a few months ago that Fleming would be his choice as manager.roadrunner wrote:next manager will be Curtis Flemming.
Re: Suggestion for new manager
So you'd rather have Peter Jackson or Stuart Gray who've both been sacked for being shite despite being in control at their clubs for well over a season or more? Yet you'll only give Todd 7 games?
Re: Suggestion for new manager
At last someone agrees with me my dad sed no he will be no good because hes done nothing at tranmere but i think barnes is the man for the job !!going_back_to_cali wrote:How about john barnes

Re: Suggestion for new manager
Although, we've had a very poor start to the season, its not a suprise considering all the upheaval we had to endure during the summer. Todd's had to try and build a squad from scratch and has done well to bring in some of the players we have, BUT things do need to improve very soon otherwise we may well need a new manager to try and preserve our league status.
My choice though it may well be a long shot would be Paul Jewell.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

Re: Suggestion for new manager
To be honest i'm trying to keep the suggestions realistic and those two are examples, but yeah, i would have them over Todd. We wouldn't be flush with willing candidates in the current situation would we?loan_star wrote:So you'd rather have Peter Jackson or Stuart Gray who've both been sacked for being shite despite being in control at their clubs for well over a season or more? P.s. both have won games too.

Re: Suggestion for new manager
Peter Jackson is a tosser. I can't stand the bloke.
Re: Suggestion for new manager
How about Ian Bogie at Gateshead? Good young manager who could bring a bit more energy to the club. He's had two succesive promotions to get them into the conference with a squad of local lads.
A lot of decent managers just want to get back into work so I'd also throw in...
Simon Davey - just sacked by Barnsley after doing well initially with them and he's played for us on loan in the past.
Stan Ternant - from the north-east and knows the lower leagues well.
Ronnie Moore - we'd be doomed to eyeball-bleeding long-ball hell, but it seems to work for him and gets results.

Absolutely. I'd much prefer a young gun than an old hat.KCChiefs wrote:I'll say it again....Cotteril.

Re: Suggestion for new manager
I'd like to see Stan Ternent at Darlo, loads of experience in the lower leagues. Always had a lot of time for him.
Re: Suggestion for new manager
Dave Hodgson
Stan Tennant (not sure I like him)
Ronnie Moore (don't like his football)
Steve Cotterill
are all good shouts. They would all keep us up and with the second two I think we could even progress next season. Ian Bogie would be a bit of a risk but at least it would be a sensible one.

How can Tennant and Moore be good shouts if you've just admitted you don't like either of them? Idiot.

paul jewell, he's available isnt he
Re: Suggestion for new manager
Has there been a release of hallucinogenic drugs in the Darlington area? John Barnes? FFS the man can barely manage to take a dump let alone manage a football team. FFS i will let off this Hardy because he is clearly about 12 but come on John Barnes give your head a shake. Are we taking about the same John Barnes who failed at Celtic and is failing still and Tranmere? .......................................................................
Some of the other names mentioned - MY GOD WAKE UP AND FACE THE REAL WORLD. We are skint, in the brown stuff and no even quater decent manager would touch us!
I know lets see if Fabio Cappello fancies a crack at it! Jesus Christ Ray!
