Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Errr that's it really Not Just one or two idiots, 100's of them on the pitch. Couple next to us(Geordies) kept apologising to my mate and his kids, and saying how disgusted they were with their own fans - good on em, but surely the lack of Policing/Stewarding contributed ? Oh and as for the Game - thought we did ok. Walshaw looks sharp, not overly impressed by any of the other new signings tho, but we were against Prem opposition i suppose.

Bad stewarding/policing?? I don't really see what you can do when 3 or 400 numpties decided to invade the pitch after scoring a second goal at a conference club. The pitch invasion was uncalled for but the actions of the newcastle fans in attacking and assaulting the stewards was utterly disgraceful!
Simple as that its got no place in the game

The couple next to were right, I am a Newcastle fan who is born and raised in Darlington and consider myself a supporter of both teams - tonight I am ashamed to be a Newcastle supporter

agree with DFC123. what a fucking disgrace.
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
I hope that the club will be sending the bill for the police to Newcastle for them to pay.

Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
was interesting at ful time that the newcastle players did not acknowledge them at full time, only Pardew did and that was so that he could plea to them to stay off the pitch.
Deffo looked like Cooper was gonna take some convincing to carry after the second invasion when the geordies were giving the stewards a good kicking

How the hell did they manage to get all the drink in, I past 3 people being sick on the way out, don't think I've ever seen a more pissed up bunch.
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Who was subbed midway though the second half and applauded the newcastle fans?
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
it could have been Adam Rundle, former Newcastle player
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Barton did and I think Williamson
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
No it was a Newcastle fan who came off and was clapping as he went. I want to say Barton but I ain't sure.DFC123 wrote:it could have been Adam Rundle, former Newcastle player

Let's not put all the blame on the Newcastle fans. After they had run on the pitch some of our fans ran on baiting and throwing beer at them. Then the stewards moved a mix of a few Darlo fans and the Newcastle fans back into the Newcastle seats. That was when the fighting started.

To be fair, I think most if not all fans who ran onto the pitch from the South/West Stand were Newcastle fans. There were quite a few in the South Stand, about 5 of them sat behind me in Block 5.Adamski82 wrote:Let's not put all the blame on the Newcastle fans. yes lets put all the blame on the newcastle fans...they made the mass invasion, their mass invasion encouraged a handful of Darlo knobs to run on the pitch.
Back in their seats and with a warning that the game would be abandoned if the incident was repeated fresh in their woefully insignificant brains they then see stewards removing a couple from their end and return to the pitch and causing more trouble- to the point of punching and kicking stewards.

The last time we played them they invaded the pitch, not on this scale but it still happened, if i was Raj Singh or whoever organises these high profile friendlies i would certainly refrain from asking Newcastle, we'd be better off asking Hartlepool to come along

All a bit hypocritical after hundreds of Darlington fans invaded the International Stadium pitch at the end of the FA Trophy semi-final.

Apart from the fact we didn't kick the fuck out of each other, the stewards or the police.Heed wrote:All a bit hypocritical after hundreds of Darlington fans invaded the International Stadium pitch at the end of the FA Trophy semi-final.

And it was at the end of the game, plus our players came over to us and we'd just got to Wembley

Fuck off you fucking knob end. We'd just got to Wembley, did we tear up Gateshead? No. Did we kick the fuck out of everything in sight? No.Heed wrote:All a bit hypocritical after hundreds of Darlington fans invaded the International Stadium pitch at the end of the FA Trophy semi-final.
Tit.
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Yes, but was there any need to come over to the Gateshead fans and goad them?Darlofan97 wrote:Apart from the fact we didn't kick the fuck out of each other, the stewards or the police.Heed wrote:All a bit hypocritical after hundreds of Darlington fans invaded the International Stadium pitch at the end of the FA Trophy semi-final.
After all we'd just missed out on Wembley.

Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Pitch invasions happen when teams win promotions win places in cup fianls, yes we invaded the pitch at Gateshead, it was good natured in celebration, the Darlo fans never once came on to cause trouble, tonight was a pre season friendly against a premier league team and a blue square team, the 2 cant be compared
Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
It's a totally different scenario heed. This was a friendly with sod all riding on it.
let's all go mental we've just scored against a team 5 leagues below in a nothing game.

Do mags need to get that drunk to watch their team

Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Now that's just sour grapes. You'll get fans that do that in the heat of celebration. We had the same when Stockport hammered us 5-0 and got promoted at our place - there's no malice in it.Heed wrote:Yes, but was there any need to come over to the Gateshead fans and goad them?Darlofan97 wrote:Apart from the fact we didn't kick the fuck out of each other, the stewards or the police.Heed wrote:All a bit hypocritical after hundreds of Darlington fans invaded the International Stadium pitch at the end of the FA Trophy semi-final.

So as others have quite rightly pointed out Second Leg of a Semi Final Vs. Pre-Season Friendly? Bit of a difference there.
Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !
Must admit however that I'm seeing Newcastle fans in a whole new light tonight... The vast majority on twitter / various forums etc... are of the opinion that "Who cares? It was just a laugh". No remorse whatsoever. Unbelievable.
