Liddle's lads head for Cup Final
Liddle's lads head for Cup Final
After a run of four straight wins in the league, Pools, yesterday inflicted a 2-1 defeat in the North-East derby at Chester le-Street. Dale Hopson was on the scoresheet for us with his 11th of the season from midfield.
Now attentions turn to Saturday where Craig Liddle will be taking his side to face Oldham's Youth Team at Oldham's ground Boundary Park in the Youth Alliance Cup Regional Final, 12pm kick off.
Our Youth Team started the journey at home to Bradford back in October and have since overcame Tranmere, Morecambe and Wigan Athletic to set up Saturday's tie. I'm sure whatever the result the lads can be proud of their achievements this season.
I'll be heading to Crawley myself but good luck lads. I'm sure they'll be well up for it.

Is anyone going to watch the lads? I know It's Crawley, Just wondering if anyone will be travelling to watch them in the final.

Good luck to the lads tomorrow. I hoped to go, but the prospect of visiting Oldham's training ground, well it doesn't sound exactly glamourous does it?
Re: Liddle's lads head for Cup Final
It wasnt glamorous, but the lads won 1-0. Paul Grainger scored and it could have been more. Play Southend or Wycombe in final now. Today was northern final.

What a pity that the Sunday Sun doesn't even mention the result. Let's hope that the Echo has a bit of a report on the game on Monday, but I doubt it somehow.

Where is the final going to be held? Or is it a two legged affair?
Cos if it were at Wycombe it would suit me nicely

Surely it would be very unfair on one of the sides if it wasn't a two legged final, given the distance between the two sides.

Southern arseholes(!) according to Southend site (see U18 report) they play DONCASTER in the final if they beat Wycombe tonight! Interesting if they win and we get to play at home!

Those of us who live down here are used to it. For some strange reason they confuse Donny and Darlo everytime!!!!
A few of us have discussed if the same happens the other way.

Lets hope we win the coin toss and the game is played at the Arena. Wycombe currently sit in 4th in the SE Conference with 29 points.

Re: Liddle's lads head for Cup Final
I wonder when they are going to do the tossing? Does anybody know when this game is due to be played?
Re: Liddle's lads head for Cup Final
About half an hour after the final whistle if we win.Darlo_Pete wrote:I wonder when they are going to do the tossing?

Re: Liddle's lads head for Cup Final
That's very disappointing. Well our team will be used to playing away, as this must be about the 4th time in a row that we've been drawn away. Hopefully one or two of our Southern based fans will be able to make the game.polam wrote:The final is at Adams Park, on Wed 4th May (7pm kick-off)
