Darlington v Sunderland preview

Post by quakersam » Thu Jul 16, 2009 2:28 pm

Hopefully Todd will have a full squad to choose from tonight bar Fozzy, if the lads who had knocks have all recovered.
Trialists expected to play a part in the game are defensive pair Darren Williams and Paul Arnison, midfielder Mark Convery and I'm guessing the keeper Woodhead and Doninger may be on the bench.

Reading between the lines, Sunderland are set to bring quite a strong side down according to Brucey. Trevor Carson is expected to deputise in goal for the Maccams as Fulop and Gordon aren't fully fit. Fraizer Campbell and Paulo Da Silva will also not feature tonight as they are given an extra break. The only other player missing for Sunderland will be Kenwyne Jones as he recovers from a slight groin injury.

There 22 man squad for tonight is.. Carson, Misiewicz, Anderson, Bardsley, Collins, McCartney, McShane, Nosworthy, Edwards, Leadbitter, Malbranque, Reid, Richardson, Tainio, Healy, Whitehead, O'Donovan, Stokes, Waghorn, Colbeck, Henderson, Meyler

Looking forward to the game tonight, who else is going :D ?

Would be useful for Waghorn to play so we can see if he's any good. Looks like they're bringing a reasonably strong team with them which can only help.

Glad to see that Sunderland will be fielding a, pretty much, full strength side unlike lots of other premiership clubs who are only "name of club 11"
