I knew he had a goal in him somewhere. Shame he's wasted it on the JPT

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Former club syndrome, he was nailed on to score tonight. So we can look forward to goals against Torquay, Rochdale, Grimsby........

If Thorpe scores against all his old clubs this season he'll be League 2 top scorer!

I don't think many are condemning Thorpe, more the way we play when he is in the team. I'll be interested to hear how we've played tonight.

I think that you're wrong there Spy, many were condemning Thorpe through ignorance.

Yeh, maybe.

Really looking forward to Saturday now. What time train are we on back? You still have my return ticket.

I think people were critical because he is a centre forward and was brought in to score goals and he wasn't doing that over several games and for most of the time during those games he never remotely looked like scoring either. Coupled with the balls lumped onto his head for him to flick into the arms of the opposition keeper and you have the seeds for discontent.

Spy, Yes I actually can't wait.

Lincoln 1835hrs arrive Kings Cross 2115hrs. One change at Newark.

cwiss, are you and your drum in attendance at Lincoln?

LL, he's never scored a lot of goals (anywhere), again what did you expect!
That said he should be on the bench on Saturday only coming off with about 20mins (ish) left, purely to change the tactics

One more question - does the train stop at Stevenage on the way back? I might get off there if it does.

I thought Thorpey had an excellent game last night. He won everything in the air, and caused their number six all sorts of problems all night long.

Just like the Leeds game then.

The problem is getting someone on the end of his flicks, I'd have him on the bench on Saturday

That was the problem last night Cod, if someone can play a few games alongside him, and build up some confidence with each other, I think we'll be alright this season.

What has changed is that Gall is prepared to chase his flicks to the corners and pull them back.

If we play in that space the R & L midfielders can operate as wingers without having to overcommit.

We lack pacy fullbacks put we now have a forward who is prepared to play "fetch"
