A Stockport County fan here. I've been keeping track of your club's situation and just wanted to add my support to this email thread, which does more to demonstrate the passion people feel for a football club than any badge-kissing centre forward can ever come close to. My own team have stumbled from crisis to crisis in recent times and its not hard to foresee a similar situation for County to that playing out at Darlo. We're in a situation where we may benefit this season from Darlo and Kettering folding, as it may prevent another relegation, but no true football fan wants their team to avoid relegation that way. I really hope both teams survive and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that come May 2012 we're all still in the BSP.

Just to add to the memories others have shared - I have a County goals of the season video from the 91-92 season and there is some classic amateur video footage of our defeat at Darlington that season, featuring a very shaky camera positioned almost too low in the crowd to record any of the action, an angry local pundit after our defender is red-carded for elbowing and footage of a goal from Steve Mardenborough. We have also both witnessed the footballing genius of Super Alun Armstrong - one of our best ever players.

Best wishes Darlo fans - keep up the fight.
Thanks

Hi, Plymouth Argyle fan here... as a fan of a team where I live and not just because mates supported them or because they are in the premiership, I can completely understand the frustrations and hurt that you guys must be feeling right now. However, just reading through a few of the threads on here it is evident what a proud, passionate fanbase Darlington has. I've always said that I would never want to see a football team go through what we have endured at Plymouth but one thing that kept us going through the dark days was the amount of support we received from football fans of other clubs. It really showed what being a fan is all about.

It's great that you have been given the chance to raise the money to take over the club and hopefully will be turning the corner and on your way to saving the club sooner rather than later.

Some great initiatives were set up at Plymouth that helped to raise money for the club and staff... some of the best fund raisers included: Bucket collections, fans fests, auctions, raffles. Hope this helps.

All the best and good luck! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you guys and will be putting a few quid in the coffers.

Regards

Paul

There's a totaliser on the CrowdCube website which Uncovered is also hosting. Or a quicker way may be just to follow this guy's posts... search.php?author_id=237&sr=posts

Our club has had its troubles !!!! But we have the good fortune to have been brought by actual supporters who so far have demonstrated they love the club. The future is now looking stable,

Looks like you now have owners with your best interests at heart, its going to be hard climb but i am sure you will rejoin us back in the football league!!!

Good luck and keep the faith

I have followed Darlington as my secondary team since 2008 and I am truly gutted with what I happening with this club. I have proudly invested in the Shares system and will reinvest when the club gives us details of how to.
Darlington Football Club Will Never Die !,

Have to admit, no doubt how many time I read the original post (let alone all of the support it brought about from fans of other teams), it always manages to send a shiver down my spine!

The Ted's (not) dead thread has to rank in there somewhere - another Pete classic.

As someone relatively new to uncovered, I didn't see the 'fun' in that thread. All a bit sick to an "outsider"

Might just be a 'you had to be there' moment then.

Having lived through Ted's various attention seeking attempts over the years this was the cherry on top of the cake.
