I'm getting no-where with this shoutcast thing, never have, don't think I ever will. None of the previous advice has worked so rely on this site to give me the updates.

Re: Save Darlington Accident & Emergency department

Not scaremongering. Look down the road to Northallerton and see what's been happening there. Doctors couldn't wait to downgrade their own maternity deprtment, claiming there weren't enough of them with enough experience to staff the place.

Re: Reasons to stay positive

Well that cheered me up. There'll come a day when we return to the football league and all this current stuff will become a memory. Can't forget that guy who left his scarf at the doors of the arena, and all that went on that day when we were technically lifeless for several minutes. Yes, we should ...

Re: Darlington FC V Farsley FC

Only 4 games gone but performances are up and down and silly points are being given away. Sounds familiar? Players must give 90 minutes consistency and I'm picking up that that's not happening. When it comes down to the wire I hope that three points lost on Saturday don't count against us. Already w...

Re: Warrington Excuses

I'm still smarting about this. Like a lot of others no doubt, I looked forward to the start of the football season and some normality after the disappointments of the world cup. I travelled a long way from Wensleydale to watch the game that Saturday and hung around like everyone else for a long time...

Re: Martin Gray - No Tactics

What's done is done, a disappointing end to an otherwise good season, so no point crying over spilt milk (that's what I tell myself anyway). Nothing is certain in football. The other thing I remind myself is that we still have a team (it's not that long since the scarf was laid at the door). And we'...

Curzon are a fantastic team; they turned us over at home last month and showed us the standard we need to reach. Rather be playing them next seaon than Spennymoor!

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton Match Thread

I agree with all comments so no repetition from me, however l haven't been able to get to a match recently due to caring responsibilities. Please reassure me that we normally perform better than last night as I was shocked at our performance and worry about our ability to compete at the required lev...

Re: carpark another reminder

The car park I usually use is the gravel covered one behind the March Hare pub which costs £3. Is this the one that's out of bounds? I'm not sure how to reach any other car parks as I'm one of the Wensleydale N Yorks supporters (we were evident at Harrogate), and not being local I'm not that sure of...

Best ever goalkeeper - result.

Three months ago I started a topic regarding who was our best goalkeeper: http://www.darlofc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25332 It attracted a lot of comment, the general concensus being that over the years we have had some excellent goakeepers - and some lemons too. I particularly liked the stor...

Foxes are smart, artful cunning creatures and if a fox is stupid enough to get caught, it's its own look out. My Uncle Reynard told me that, and he reckoned he knew a lot about foxes.

Re: New Manager!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Said it before and will say it again. MG is the only manager who didn't clear off on a pasport to somewhere better off, on the back of Darlo promotions. He has ambition and he wants to realise it with Darlo; said so himself when he gave his talk at Northallerton in June. Definitely the man for the j...

Re: Can we really afford to be banning fans ?

We should always give our unequivocal support to any player who pulls on our shirt and goes out on the pitch to play for our club. If that player has a poor game, what good does it achieve to go out of one's way to pull his performance to pieces in his face? No-one sets out to play badly. Whoever he...

Re: Prescot Cables

I was only 3 in 1959, but by 1966 I'd reached the dizzy age of 10 when I stood in a crowd of 16,000 near the west stand for a 0-0 draw with Torquay ( I have the match report for that one; usual line up, Moore, Peverell, Keeble, O'Neill, Ratcliffe etc). Not that I saw anything through a forest of leg...

Who was our best goalkeeper?

There are some people who are masters of their trade; such people, whether the finest of doctors, the best of mechanics, or whatever, just exude an aura of competence. Those old enough to remember Gordon Banks might recall that feeling of confidence he inspired between the posts for England, you kne...

We were at Feethams since 1883. We lost our identity at the arena under various unappealing monickers. We'll have been at Bishop 2 years. if we're going back home - and just along from our old Polam Lane entrance at that - it should be the New Feethams Ground. Nothing else.

Re: More support needed

How many more Darlo supporters are there like me? I was a Feethams season ticket holder. My enthusiasm lapsed when we went to the arena; think I saw about 5 games there - yes I feel guilty for not gving my support. But travel from Leyburn, mortgage costs at the time and cost of running a household a...
