Re: Asante
I see he is due to have another fitness test, which must mean he failed the one he had last Saturday! So if he is not in the squad tonight he must still be injured, or not selected but we will not know until the preview of the next game?

He has a Grion injury we are told.Darlopartisan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 7:51 pmDoes this work in our favour as regards recruitment, judging by the team selection, without a shadow of a doubt, again no Asana , would be good for to know what the score is with him.

Re: Jassem Sukar
Seems obvious why they signed him. According to Scarborough website (ok we know these can sometimes not be up to date!) they have THREE Defenders currently in their Squad and ELEVEN Midfielders! And we thought we had an imbalnced Squad from time to time

Re: Darlington V Scunthorpe
This might be a bit negative but a windy game could level things out and hamper the better team more than the other. That would be in our favour of course - every little helps and if Asante plays the ball might bump into him and confuse their keeper on the way in at a queer angle. I can't imagine h...

Re: v Tamworth
Easy in hindsight I know, and fully respect all the volunteer board members, but bottom line is that their errors of judgement in last 12 mths have played a large part in our situation. 1. Not backing AA when we were top by not spending the Beck money and wages saved on bringing in a decent replace...

Re: v Tamworth
It seems fashionable to knock Salkeld but he has had good games. When we beat Chester at home, for one. I wasn't knocking him I was just asking what he offers over and above Nelson, who I thought had a good game on Tuesday. Yeah, I know you weren't being critical, I suppose I drifted away from your...

Re: v Tamworth
Bit controversial maybe as personally don't like 5 at back. However given Barrow looks like a proper wing back and the only one to get to byline and get crosses in on Tuesday may be worth trying again as probably the only way with current personnel that we can create any width. If fit, maybe give W...

When things are going against you. I suspected it at the time but the highlights seems to confirm Carver was offside in the build up to the first goal. The highlights actually miss out some of the defending in the run up to it, which I think was even worse than what happened immediately before it w...

Re: Southport
If we could somehow engineer a Rule change where the goals are repositioned across the pitch we would look great. The players don't seem to understand how to get the ball in the opposition box where the goals are at the moment.

Re: Southport
Interesting game tonight, our record at Southport is fairly appalling, but you would hope that the team is feeling confident after a win at Kings Lynn. We could really do with a win tonight, that would give us a free hit against Tamworth on Saturday whilst also not letting Southport pull away from ...

You are probably right, but it's a bit misleading to have mentioned the Streaming coverage in the first paragraph and then putting it immediately underneath info about next saturday's game. I am easily confused these days!

Re: Kings Lynn v Darlington 6/01/24
The game appears to be on national league TV, how come there's no Saturday blackout? That’s a bonus, I hadn’t expected it would be on TV today. Having said that I think I have seen 3 games on NLTV against Scunthorpe, Bishop Stortford and Chorley, and we have lost them all, conceding 13 and scoring ...

Re: Good luck Steve Watson
I'm struggling with not knowing what we're paying out and to who. We "parted company" with Gowling but was that mutual, was there a clause in his contract or is he getting a pay out? Likewise is Armstrong getting his full salary for the year? Is Asante really on a grand a week and not even on the p...

I agree, a Director of Football is stupid at this level of football and with our resources.theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 9:01 amA "director of football" is surely daft. If you have someone overseeing how you play and taking care of player movements then you may as well bin the manager's job - thereby making the DOF the manager.
