My first thought was :wtf: - the York City fans did not do anything to deserve the mess they now find their club in and hence have my sympathy. Their Trust were very brave not to capitulate to the blackmailing tactics, but now they may have to really start on the fundraising to save their club. Sec...

Love the pic on the official website of Thommo signing his new contract squeezed in amongst crockery and what looks like a pressure cooker! A metaphor? ;) http://darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk/thommo-why-i-signed-for-another-two-years/ It was a slow cooker  Don't you just love non League foo...

Are we really just two points away from the play-offs or am I looking at the wrong table. You are looking at the right table you just forgot to notice we have played erm......just 7 games more than Spenney! I am just happy we are staying up (I think) 7pts off York is what I'm looking at...on...

Re: Spennymoor v Bromley @ Blackwell Meadows

Be nice for BM to host the later stages of a cup competition for once  If it's even on - the pitch wasn't great on Saturday as it was. I wonder if this is anything to do with DFC though - it's DRFCs facility (although our stands would be needed) I'd be amazed if our "Licence to Play" at BM inc...

Re: Northern Premier League Announcements

Are you sure you "heard" this correctly. FA website has an update of "promotion applicants" for clubs operating at Steps 6 & 7. Would have thought any changes at other levels might have been mentioned here? Possible relegation seems a bit draconian doesn't it? https://twitter.com/joebillgibbo/statu...

Re: Northern Premier League Announcements

So I am hearing that at a meeting yesterday clubs were told FA putting a new rule that if you refuse promotion you will be automatically relegated by the FA moving forwards. I assume this applies to Step 5 and the Northern League. I do wonder if that will start to reduce the inflated salaries in th...

Thanks for that Henley a real good read. It beats the usual one with Cabbies here "I once had a trial for Liverpool/Everton" (delete as appropriate). I know a couple of cabbies in Liverpool will ask them if they know him!

Re: Brackley V Darlington FC

Having watched the highlights I don't actually think it was a sending off (I'll await the replies). My reasoning is simply that Harvey wouldn't of gotten to the ball had he been allowed to run, which therefore takes away the 'denying a clear goalscoring opportunity' (if that still exists). If the s...

Re: Vinny Steels - Transfer to York

Just goes to show that Gray couldn't care less about the club he said he loved. Don't blame Steels just Gray. Gray is all talk, the only person he cares about is himself, just wonder how long it will be before he tries for Heaton as he fits his type of player to a tee.Rumour has it he tried for oth...

Anybody any idea what effect if any Virgin's impending loss of East Coast rail line will have on Darlo sponsorship? I'd imagine that we'll need a new shirt sponsor for next season. Don't fancy our chances against BPA or Kiddie on their current form, despite our own decent improvements. Perhaps the weather will be an issue and buy us some more time with a postponement? At least Curzon & Gainsborough failed to close the gap on us plus worsened their goal difference. At least ou...

It's another massive game tomorrow. Win and we could start to build an unbeaten run and put some air between us and the relegation zone. Lose and we're sucked right into it. I can't really call it at the moment. All I can say is we should all be aiming for the win. Oh that's a relief to know that c...

Dunno. The reserves was Martin Gray's idea/demand - seemed to give MG football academy players somewhere to play - not sure about now. I asked a question about the future of the Reserves at a Netcafe after MG left. Had a quick look on the Club site see if I could find it, but gave up after a few mi...

They should have had a player sent off after 1 minute for elbowing galbraith but the result was all about our dreadfully negative approach to the second half in which we stayed on the back foot clearly under orders. Not good enough against a dreadful side. How much lower can we sink. Back to the Ev...

Tommy Wright isn't going to turn this around is he? This one isn’t Wright’s fault, never looked like conceding until our keeper punched their player. But you can blame TW for us not putting the game to bed before this late incident? Yarblockos and many others are right, I am afraid I don't see TW "...

Re: Harrogate V Darlington FC

Unfortunately Tommys hands are tied at the moment and there is little flexibility for him to get in who he wants, it is fairly certain whatever happens there will be a max exodus in the Summer. As I have said before the players that he has brought in look better than what Gray left us with, so I am...
