Re: DFCSG AGM Tonight
Slightly concerned about dip in DFCSG membership but it is understandable given Covid & lack of matches where fans can go watch. Putting the AGM onto Zoom was welcome & enforced a well structured, business-like & efficient meeting. Only about 70 attendees including presenters so less than 10% of me...

Re: YOURCLUB
My initial expectation was that i would be using my ID number for everything. A one-stop for all interactions with the club. I was expecting to be able to buy the footy programme and order the match here. Not the case unless I've missed something. All this will come to pass. The issue, in the short...

Re: Spennymoor Away
In terms of pre-game planning, fan communication and ‘on the day’ organisation, yesterday’s game is one of the worst I’ve been to in 30 years. I arrived at the ground at c2.15pm and stood in a very long queue on a street to get in. A female steward shouted up that a second turnstile was available fo...

Re: Darlo v York
Wheatley MOTM for me on Saturday. I didn't need to be on a balcony to see that. Delighted he's back and him & Hatfield are some pairing in the middle of the park. Frustrating on Saturday that we went toe-to-toe with a FT, 2nd placed club with more £££ to play with than us, and threw away at least a ...

Re: Time for Gray to finish the job.....
For me, Penney is the best of the above list by some distance. Granted he had backing and, pre-admin, a good budget, but he spent it exceptionally well and we were a joy to watch. What a squad. I miss those seasons we had under him terribly. MG did a great job in completely different circumstances a...

Re: Time for Gray to finish the job.....
I like the idea of limiting the already narrow criteria of "to manage this club you must have played for it first..." to the even narrower "to manage this club you must have managed it first..." He did a great job between 2012-2017 for sure, but largely overspent, often disrespected the club/fans an...

Re: B T B Email
This bugs me, when we raised all that money for the budget. We signed plenty of players that people were happy with, every manager signs good/bad players and sometimes these 'potentially good players' don't turn out how we want. Maddison - Dropped 2 leagues and had FL experience. Burn - Dropped dow...

Re: B T B Email
Same again for me next season regardless of this season's performance or views on current 'on the pitch' situation. As most have said above, this is about funding the club and not about having a say on the current manager or this signing/that signing. Someone on here a while back said he wasn't goin...

Re: New Finance Director
Well, I've recently turned 41 to give you the context. I know he was watching games in the 89/90 season when I first started going regularly. Maybe older relatives took him along at any early age? Perhaps he took a shine to DFC from a distance at a really young age and then started attending games a...

At that time/at that level, Craig Gott was excellent. And give her her due, his partner/wife/girlfriend used to come and sit in the open seats behind the goal of a midweek game to watch him. And speaking of Jamie Clarke... https://www.whitbygazette.co.uk/sport/football/blues-sunk-by-darlington-1-474...

Re: Chandler
...although that said, it's a shame to see how bitter and twisted Chandler's become. Is there some backstory there? MoM at Wembley if I'm not mistaken, captain in the liquidation season, the scenes at Barrow, etc. Sad really. Exactly. For me, most of the non-game stuff on Saturday was petty and poi...

In other respects, current 'real time' financial plight aside, the latest set of accounts make for decent reading – t/over is up £214k, GP is up £82k and the operating loss figure is down by £85k from 2017. Matchday income is up £3k, transfer fees received are up £62k as is ‘miscellaneous income’ by...

But he's not taken a salary. He's been paid this bonus/commission to presumably cover his own costs at time which he has taken away from his own business. Oh, I was talking about Craig Morley at that point in terms of moving forward (apologies for not being clear). And I get everything else you say...

Re: Club Accounts
It's not semantics if a post is commission only - that's pay not bonus. The commercial job wasn't a voluntary post either. No suggestion he was paid for his Director role, which was voluntary. Each to their own - I have no qualms with this, but am on the same page as regards the rest of your views....

But it's not a bonus, is it? It's commission. Would you not accept your monthly pay? No. The commercial job, which we are assuming this was relative too, paid commission, so you're arguing oranges and apples. Bonus/commission - semantics at the end of the day. Of course I wouldn't accept not gettin...

Re: Club Accounts
I think Mikky, and others who have said similar, are probably right. I think/hope that this £10,500 is a % slice of £50k-£100k of commercial revenue brought in across one financial year. I don’t have any beef with people making money for making their organisation money and I really hope that Craig M...

Re: Club Accounts
No, you're right - I'm just a Member and a fan, so in that respect finding out this way is probably as much as I can hope for/expect. There could be a problem, though, if the DFCSG board found out in the same way (and I'm not saying they did). And again, it could just be coincidence, but the timing ...

I also wouldn't volunteer as an unpaid Director of a cash-strapped fan owned club and take £10k out.
