Re: Jacob Hazel
Played again last night in a win on penalties against French Guiana, which means they have qualified for the Group Stage of the Gold Cup. Final score was 1-1 before the penalty shootout, the St Kitts and Nevis goal coming from a shot by Hazel that the keeper saved and a teammate converted the rebou...

Re: David Stockdale
DJ mentioned that Stockdale was working with Alun identifying targets. Then a couple of days later he’s sacked it off to get paid doing the same thing for York. Just hope it doesn’t affect our recruitment plans now. Slightly disappointing that he committed to help us out and then just done one. He ...

Re: New players and targets
So with a squad of 13 signed on I think we still need the following - GK CM x 2 LW CF Who do we think AA will be looking at? Wonder if there will be a loan player or two in there ? I don't think we will be bring in a GK, Taylor will be our only goalkeeper - I don't think, with our levels financiall...

Re: Great Annual Savings
Understand that Brad has several other businesses that contribute to Evenwood utd so it maybe a tightening of the budget but don't believe it is necessarily the end of Brad groves financial assistance and those fans i have spoken too all believe it is business as usual? we will obviously see!.

Re: Change of Council
DJ might be disappointed but it looks like the Tories have crashed in the Darlington Borough Council elections. Labour gains, but short of a majority. Interestingly big winners were the Greens who now have 7 Councillors. Labour - 24 (though one was suspended from the Party so I'm guessing he counts...

Re: Meeting with board
There might not be a great deal of new information to come out of this meeting. Assuming Armstrong doesn’t offer his resignation, it will likely be a case of carry on regardless. No doubt next season’s budget will be discussed, but I would not expect details of that to be made public. Perhaps the m...

Re: Players on radar
Hazel up front ,Moke in midfield , Sukar, Lawlor, Hedley and Taylor in defence retained so far (6)and if I'm honest three of those back four have not been good enough for most of the season and need replacements or offer competition unfortunately, Purver, Lambert unlikely to stay so a full team of s...

Re: Who stays and who goes
My main concern about changing the manager is the lack of outstanding candidates to replace him. There’s nobody local who stands out without taking a massive risk with the likes of Atkinson who only has a caretaker spell as manager at this level. Or there is Steve Watson who has failed more than he...

Re: Who stays and who goes
I believe DJ needs to make a clear statement regarding his support for AA, or they should both agree on a mutual departure. This is important for two reasons: Firstly, it will prevent the Boost the Budget initiative from being negatively impacted. Secondly, if we publicly back AA and then sack him ...

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton Tuesday April 18th2023
Another major decision from a referee which didn’t go our way, although whether we could of scored against 10 is debatable. I didn’t think we played that bad in the first half, but the second half was dreadful. Can’t believe these players were the same ones who were contributing to such excellent f...

Re: Club Statement
There has been alot of talk recently from Darlo FC about fans misbehaving and we still await a heavy fine for events at Scarboro, so it is right that AA who got a red card earlier in the season for fighting on the pitch and in the tunnel with the Evenwood Utd manager comes under the same scrutiny an...

2023 highlights or lowlights?
2023 January started with a 5-2 Win at scarboro followed by win against Evenwood utd going top of league; but tempered by loss of Mark Beck, leading to 19 games with 4 wins,8 draws and 3 defeats (only one win since AA signed two year contract beginning March) and fall from sitting comfortably with g...

Re: Darlington V Bradford PA
Darlo good for the first 10 minutes of both halves, but in between rather average I thought. Too much hoof ball and giving the opposition too much time on the ball and too much space. Moke, Hazell, Hedley, Rivers, Nelson all very poor. Newall by far Darlo's best player. Yet despite being poor for m...

2 match ban if more than 10 bookings before Farsley
Tonight at farsley is our 37th league game so players have to receive 10 bookings before getting a two match ban. Fortunately Purver is on six bookings and Hazel five so unlikely both unlikely to reach that cut off tonight.

Gloucester FC are just the latest victims and it is about time the "fit & proper" test for club owners is revised & strengthened so it d...

Well played Sukar putting in 90mins when still ill, looked like he was throwing up in second half and obviously Lambert had problems with his knee and carried on thru the pain. Felix had a quiet game but traveling from Peterboro as AA says does take it out of you and getting back 3am likely doesnt h...

We are part time, small squad and a few of the team suffering illness (Lawlor,Jass,Griffiths, Lambert) so can expect and accept losing games albeit was hard against two teams with poor form. Inevitable unfortunately. Players, managers and directors come and go, it is only fans who who are for life. We have to put this behind us and focus on Spennymoor on Saturday. We can still put out a strong starting X1 even if the bench is a bit weak. It might mean a reprieve for Mondal and he might...

A move to Cambridge Utd would be a good level and certainly more stable (financially) club then Hpool or colchester who have huge debts. I think a few other clubs will take a look but dont believe our promotion chase is over as AA mentioned if/ when he goes as it would free up funds for a few loan s...
