Re: Who stays and who goes
A mess at the back, and our entire success/style of play was fixated on one player - who AA would have known had a clause in his contract to leave. The manager, i'm afraid, has to take responsibility for both of those. We are no different to plenty of other clubs who lose key players to clubs above...

Re: Who stays and who goes
I think he has to stay but I think there needs to be agreement on expected progression because, frankly, I think we wouldn't have been happy to have not made the playoffs once since he has been appointed to the role if we went back in our time machines. Being competitive for the playoffs in this lea...

Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
Maybe there’s some local assets he can give away for £100 like the teesport… if a change of council endangers the plan, it seems to me that it either might not be a good plan, or it’s tied up in dodgy mates rates deals. You mean like labour did with the sale of Teesside Airport to Peel? Citation ne...

Flip a coin for me. Still has my backing but I can’t say I’d be overly upset if he went either.

Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
To be fair Skerningham is a very unpopular development for locals in that area and the more that comes out about the land owners Corney and his crew and local elections in May I just can’t see it happening. So that leaves Faverdale which is miles out of town and all that traffic going through West ...

Re: Scarborough Away - Mon 2nd Jan (SOLD OUT)
By way of a comparison, a Football Banning Order in the courts will be for a minimum period of two years, up to a maximum of ten. The purpose of a ban is to prevent future disorder, and rehabilitation doesn’t come into it. 12 months seems a little on the lenient side (in my opinion). I just don't a...

Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
I honestly don’t think it’s a great location for the football club, but Christ NIMBY campaigners drive me nuts. Said NIMBY in chief quoted as saying the site is being proposed for ‘no good reason’. It strikes me that over 1,500 homes in a country with a severe shortage of housing is a rather good re...

Re: Scarborough Away - Mon 2nd Jan (SOLD OUT)
Coming back to the earlier point of normalised Homophobia and misogyny in football, I'm not sure if anyone has the Man United game on, but some pretty audible chanting of 'Chelsea rent boy' there... let's see if any action is taken.

Re: Scarborough Away - Mon 2nd Jan (SOLD OUT)
I don’t think that would’ve done anything to prevent this. Idiots are idiots. What’s important is not excusing their behavior. Their age is, of course, irrelevant, but it’s merely an observation of how terms like ‘snowflake’ are thrown around by those who should often know better and are just being ...

Re: Tipping point in this league?
There’s some bonkers finances at this level (and to an extent the level above). Some of this is all a weird imbalance because you have former football league clubs like ourselves who fell on hard times down here and a collection of overfunded micro-clubs with very few real fans. I don’t begrudge the...

Re: Scarborough Away - Mon 2nd Jan (SOLD OUT)
There were a handful of sexist comments made early on but these seemed to stop after the first delay. If the official had continued the second half on the same line she probably wouldn’t have had any more comments made. The fact she swapped lines left her open to the same thing happening with the h...

Re: Scarborough Away - Mon 2nd Jan (SOLD OUT)
Obviously the problem is misogynists, it's just that the idiots will misbehave more if they think they can get away with it, and a few more police officers dotted around would help. Some of the recent crowds have been around 3000, this number of people is way more than normal and warrants more poli...

Re: New ground - an idea
With our away form this season compared to our home form, how about we just sack off building a new ground, save the cash, and just play everyone away from home twice each season and become full time nomads? We'd be unstoppable. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk Fine for the points, but somew...

Re: 2,300 tickets sold for Boxing day as of 18th Dec (Now 2,400 pre-sold)
"THE if your less than 6ft the view is s*** more so for the 500 away fans ." Fold up steps or milk crates then!! Not with the grass bank. It's worse for the home fans. You're stuffed if you're under 6ft and not in the Tin-Shed or seated stand. That said, the last time we had much larger home attend...

Re: Kit vote
Really like A. I don't understand the perpetual moaning about the kit 'being the same'. It's clearly not the same, it is a different hooped kit. Other teams in hoops don't whine about this, so I don't understand why some of our fans do. I don't understand the thinking behind why some random white ki...

Re: ITV
Really good article all very positive. My only concern about Skerningham is it’s very unpopular locally and in next Mays election if there’s a change of council to Labour I can see the whole scheme being scrapped. We need to vote Tory for the good of the football club. My fears exactly about Labour...

Re: York city
What a mess. I can't imagine any manager in work wanting to chance their luck with that job, and I include AA in that. Like Jonathan Greening, he's doing well with a secure job and stable board. Why would either of them risk it for that? I can't see why Mike Williamson would either. I would be fearf...

Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
I'm absolutely sure it would be used and there would be *some* demand, but again, expectations should be tempered. Solid bookings every night of the week for 5 hours isn't realistic at all. In reality, i'd expect the 7-8 and 8-9 to be popular several nights of the week. 5-6 people are at work, 6 a l...

Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
I'm not sure we will be in the business of spending any more than necessary. If moving the stands from BM is a cheap option, I imagine we would do it. I'm still yet to be convinced we will have access to anything like that amount of money. It seems like fantasy economics to me. I'll be more than hap...

On a side note, Rugby Club bods I know say, according to the terms of the lease, that they will inherit the assets we have installed at BM and we can't take them with us. Can anyone verify this? Re: So Faverdale or Skerningham
We didn’t move the temporary stands from Bishop because it was put to a public vote I don't remember it boiling down to this? I recall it being quite high cost and given they wouldn't benefit ground grading it wasn't commercially viable to do it? I suspect it will boil down to commercial viability ...

I think it would be nice to know what the situation is with next season if we were to be promoted. I find only talking about the football league ground criteria as running before we can walk, and the league above should be our focus. Christ, look at Wrexham. They’re being generously funded by one of...
