Re: Aidan Rutledge

I thought he had a decent match overall. In the first half he broke into the box and had a shot/cross which Salkeld couldn't turn in. He put himself about a bit, maybe looks a little bit raw, but was in the right place to score our first. For over half of the season we never had anyone in the right ...

Thought Lawlor was excellent today and in first 20 blocked two potential goals at least, pleased for him.
Yes Lawlor was absolutely immense today. Good shout.

Re: Easter Monday at Warrington Town

Watson's record is 10-0-9, not a single draw!

But crucially a +50% win ratio. I couldn't have dreamed he'd win 10 from 19 at the point when he joined.

Re: Easter Monday at Warrington Town

I watched on the stream and that was a well deserved win.

It's in our hands. Win the next 2 home games and that takes us to 55 points. No one ever goes down with 55 points so we'll be safe. Southport of course won't be easy, a bit of a bogey side for us.

These are bang average and in a false position. We will smash them 3 or 4-0.

Fuck it, 5-0.

Clowning virtually killed this club - still might have done - I'm happy that you can just forgive and forget.

Re: Darlington V Chorley

Not only was he allowed to do it, but (allegedly) Asante is on a two-year contract, yet he has only played 18% of all available minutes since he signed and he is one of our highest-paid players since becoming fan-owned. I strongly disagree with the term "played". I can hardly remember that far back...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

Funny how when we start loosing games again all the moaners come out the woodwork again Sadly it is because some people are happier when we lose, because it suits their negative personalities. They perversely enjoy a good whinge, and are denied that pleasure when we are doing well. No. They aren't ...

⬆️ Merely pointing out that players get injured. You were right about Gowling 97, but FFS - stop banging on about it. No - because it is entirely relevant (and probably the biggest reason why) to the situation we are in. We can't pretend we weren't in the situation before Gowling came in. Our recor...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

Yes but the club as an entity survives and still provides football on a weekly basis. It still provides the leisure activity within the community to the fans who demand it. Nothing stops that. So again what is the alternative just shout into the echo chamber "this is terrible" "this was a bad decis...

If we go down this season, it's not because the referee/linesman got that decision wrong yesterday. It's because for the vast majority of the season we've been dogshit. Saw this thread from Leamington FC on Twitter last night regarding their new ground. Lots to be jealous of, not least the level of support from Warwick District Council. If only DFC could get some real strong local government support behind us and build the football club into the local plan. https:...

Re: Darlington V Chorley

It would be good to go some way to atone for that abomination of a result masterminded by Gowling at their place. This game on Friday has nothing to do with that. It's a game, we need three points to help us avoid relegation - any talk of revenge or of Gowling is not relevant. Lads. It's "Clowning"...

Re: Complacency

I've always liked Tommy Taylor and think he's one of the better keepers of recent years. If we part ways at the end of the season he can hold his head high because he's pulled off many saves which have saved us points over his time here. He definitely could have done better with their 3rd yesterday ...

I never saw that one coming. They wanted it desperately and we didn't turn up.

Both of our full backs got tortured and we were lucky that their number 9 couldn't hit a barn door otherwise it could have been 5, 6 or 7.

What else can you say after that?

Keep the faith lads we have to win more than rushall . it's doable, right up to 15th place only 4 points difference.some have to play eachother so it's in our own hands to stay in NLN Why are you focusing on Rushall? There are several teams who if their last 5/6 match form is poor enough, could go ...

Re: Rushall v Darlington

It’s been a while but we were outthought, outfought and out played today pretty much the whole game. If it’s between us and Rushall then that makes me nervous because they looked half decent and certainly are battling for everything. We do struggle to match teams who are very physical. We couldn’t ...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

I can't think of any scenario where it would make good business sense to sink that sort of money into moving the pipe. Even in the unlikely event that DFC was to take ownership of BM, it would be more cost effective to build elsewhere on site. No chance. Assuming a cost of £1m to move the pipe, the...

Not disagreeing with you, but its astounding that you (and others) have Nelson in the 'keep' pile given what the consensus was around him a couple of months ago. It's because he wasn't scoring and we weren't scoring as a whole. It did feel like he was never going to score again at one point. That w...

Not sure exactly who is contracted for next season, other than Nelson, but of those under contract, who would you move on if we could do so? None - unless Asante is one. Sort of a shame he never got a goodbye game. Assume he must have an offer lined up somewhere. Left by mutual consent so suits both parties. Who is next? I'd say Sukar but if he doesn't have a club lined up or isn't fit to play then he may as well see out the final weeks of his contract. Then I'd ex...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Ah yes I was just focussing on the away end. I thought the exclusion zone ended somewhere between where the 6 yard line and 18 yard line hit the goal line. The point is there is enough space to build another off centre terrace there - if there was deemed to be value in doing so - and would most lik...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Def think some banked standing at the way end would really help possibly something we can take with us if we move. Have to get the RC onside though and that’s the hard job but people views do change. The rugby clubs only issue is they don't want their clubhouse knocked down - and based on plans tha...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

Fully yes. The pipe only restricts at most a third of the away end. We know there is enough space to develop to step 1 standard. Not quite true. It restricts up to half of the away end and also part of the main stand side - it runs diagonal through the stadium footprint. There's a reason the stand ...

Job most definitely not done. It is still very much in Rushall’s hands, if they beat us they are 2 points behind us with a game in hand, and that game is against Bishop Stortford. All we have to do is win 2 of our last 6 matches (3 if you want to be sure), regardless of whether Rushall is one of th...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?

It is a tad disingenuous to infer that an increase in playing budget is either irresponsible or out of line with other clubs at our level. Equally, any poorer financial performance eventuially reported for 2023/24 is entirely predictable and not uncommon for poorer performing teams. In short, these...

Me personally I would go full strength at Rushall and hopefully get the win which realistically barring a complete capitulation would see us pretty much safe. Then I'd be giving a day off to the likes of Barrow, Main, Cornish in the Chorley game. Are you stupid? The lads are being ran into the grou...
