Re: Boost The Budget January 2024

Speaking of budgets, Scarborough's for 2022-23 (when they only just missed out on the play-offs) was £357,982 – up from £211,181 in the previous Northern Premier League season. Wonder how that compared to ours. I stand to be corrected but I think our playing budget was in the mid 300k range and tot...

Re: Match off

The reff was I,m told a she. And? The rumour was that the Scunthorpe manager complained to the referee and he caved in and called it off. Sorry Yarblockos, Old Git's post that you've quoted still doesn't explain why onewayup telling us the ref was female is of any relevance at all. "and he caved in...

Re: Match off

Yes in Darlington but guessed this would be off have you seen the Skerne if that’s very high Blackwell has nowhere to drain. Right decision but should have been taken much earlier for Scunthorpe fans. Much earlier would the pitch have been a) less wet, or b) more wet? How would you have justified c...

Re: Match off

Absolutely ridiculous decision. Made 15 minutes before kick off with several hundred fans inside the ground, including a number of away supporters. Watching the players warm up, it didn’t look like there was a problem with the surface. The rumour was that the Scunthorpe manager complained to the re...

Strikers are the most expensive players, how long do you persist with a player that is consistently the worst player on the pitch? He was never the worst player on the pitch let alone "consistently" the worst player on the pitch. He’s gone get over it. I stand by my comment about him not being the ...

Re: Boost The Budget January 2024

Interview with DJ following successfully meeting the BTB target. Says we missed out on a striker we thought we were close on who went to a club in our league. Looking at recent movers, presume it was Jonny Margetts who was having an unbelievable season with Matlock in the league below, but signed f...

Played for a club languishing near the bottom of the league below. Is he going to be better than the likes of Salkeld or Ngandu - I hope so otherwise we'll just be bloating our poor quality squad further.

The players we sign need to be much better than what we already have.

We might get a bit more time for incomings as I can see a lot of games on Saturday biting the dust with this widespread freeze-up. Some already off tonight. May not be a bad thing for us if we have a free weekend.
It's supposed to be 9 degrees by Saturday.

Easy in hindsight I know, and fully respect all the volunteer board members, but bottom line is that their errors of judgement in last 12 mths have played a large part in our situation. 1. Not backing AA when we were top by not spending the Beck money and wages saved on bringing in a decent replace...

We have no creativity, no goal scorer, and we have it seems no method of play, no plan to even attempt to threaten any oppositions goal. We’ve seen one home game win this season! Tamworth seemed nothing special. If we’d had a player like Stephen Thompson or Jack Lambert on the pitch we could have b...

I think maybe the Tamworth fans see the game at little, struggling Darlo as a bit of a foregone conclusion We are 1-7-5 at home and just lost 2-0 at Southport who are so dogshit that they lost their previous 2 home matches 0-3 and 0-4. Tamworth are hammering everyone. So we are the proverbial banan...

Total now £16,782 and looks to have stalled a little bit.

I've just had a look at the Official website, and no mention of the BTB on the home page.

Surely this being stickied on the home page for easy access is a minimum basic requirement when trying to raise 30 grand!

After 160k wasted I’m against and mid season btb, sorry if this offends the masses but it’s a no from me.
