I know he's only played two/three games but that doesn't really seem to mean much these days. If he carries on playing games for Spurs and maintaining early season form, I'm sure Eric Dier won't be far away in future squads.

I can't help thinking that the few times Staunton did get promising lads like Hogg and Collins in were more down to him getting good recommendations off other coaches than his own ability to spot talent though. You can add Collins and Devitt to that list. There still must have been 3 or 4 bad for every good one though.
