Re: Players moving from DFC to YCFC (and vice-versa)
There was a lad called Adam Reed (not the original) in the Northern League/Evo-Stik days I think. May not have moved direct from York but from memory played for them at some point and came with a decent reputation but was a bit of a disappointment.

Re: Wilson Kneeshaw
A couple of the better players from my Sunday team mentioned he'd turned out a few times for their Saturday team (Jesmond FC) in the Northern Alliance in February/March.
Safe to say that'll be the last we see of him at Darlo.

Re: Gateshead game...
I’m not saying you’re not entitled to an opinion, more questioning the motivation for belittling a player publically with questionable reasoning, particularly after the second game of the season after there has been repeated calls for patience due to new personnel/formation/style of play. Why the ne...

Re: Gateshead game...
From the Northern Echo: He elaborated after Saturday’s match, during which Laing enjoyed a solid game, saying: “People were ringing me and sending me stuff they’d seen and it’s unbelievable. Two games. Laingy was getting the brunt of it and I was absolutely flabbergasted. “Things happen off the fie...

Re: Gateshead game...
Absolutely no need for some of these comments on Laing. Yes he got caught a couple of times in possession in the first half but so for example did Trotman yet not a word on that. And as has been pointed out the Gateshead number 9 was a nuisance and gave Galbraith just as much of a tough time. Second...

Re: Farsley V Darlington
Looks like it’s only Heaton we are waiting for confirmation/clearance to play now. What about Donawa? I haven’t seen anything official plus there’s the added complication of arriving from overseas whIch, as we know, can further delay the registration process. I haven’t been to any pre-season games ...

Re: Farsley V Darlington
Irrespective of registrations coming through for the most recent signings I'd be very surprised to see any alterations to what we expect in terms of personnel and formation in the starting eleven. The Atkinson injury seemingly the only doubt. Elliott Trotman Laing Galbraith Liddle Atkinson Hatfield ...

Re: James Caton
A powder-puff, half-hearted, glove-wearing fanny who typifies why we’ve struggled the last couple of years. Honestly don’t know what people have seen to claim he has ability barring literally a 30 minute cameo in the 18 months or so he was with us. Surely destined for the lower echelons of non-league.

Re: Four signings confirmed
Superb news, absolutely superb. By my reckoning that means the squad must look like the following: Elliott/Hall Trotman/Laing/Galbraith/Heaton/Watson/Liddle Atkinson/Hatfield/Holness/Wheatley/Bascombe Thompson/Rivers/Holmes/Donawa/Bell Campbell/O’Neill With Burn the odd man out. Frankly speaking I’d...

Can only assume a replacement is lined up, shame to see him go. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk Agreed. Had a feeling this may have been coming given the attackers brought in from Blyth and comments about having a NE based team but still a strange one given JN has been one of very few goal thre...

Re: Hereford v Darlington Match Thread
Final straw for me that today. I’ve no doubt the intentions and hard work have been there with Tommy but ultimately that can only cover over an underlying inability to manage the team to even a moderately adequate level for so long. Don’t expect TW to walk (unfortunately) and so can only hope we som...

What a back line that was. Austin, White, Foster and Ryan with Stockdale between the sticks for good measure. Wow.

So selection roulette this week appears to suggest 4-5-1 with Styche up top and Saunders’ inclusion presumably to use his pace out wide at a guess? Nicholson, Henshall and Ainge all on the bench. Interesting.

Can’t quite believe we didn’t walk away with three points from that. The most one sided draw I can remember for a long, long time. Tremendous praise to each and every one of the boys, you can’t ask for more and on another day it really would’ve been 5 or 6. Credit to the two Blyth centre halves too ...

Re: Official team photo
Hope your right about quality over quantity, but at moment not sure at all. From what I have seen so far, I think all the new guys have talent but most are not as good as essentially, who they have replaced, which does worry me. Ie. Pears, Heaton, Turnbull, gillies. Not sure Maddison, Burn, Hughes,...

as SPL is pretty much L2/NL level and then Celtic have a top end Championship side. . hilarious. yes the standard isn't as good north of the border but you're way off with that. replace L2 / NL with the english championship / top of league 1 and your closer. Utter nonsense. Scottish football is emb...

Re: Leeds sack Heckingbottom
I personally think Heckingbottom is overhyped and isn't that great a manager. He'd have taken Barnsley down and was supposedly on the brink of a sacking before Leeds came calling. It seems bad to have sacked a manager without giving him a transfer window to reshape the squad. But if they genuinely ...

Highly doubtful given he only signed a new deal a matter of days before he left for Leeds.Darlogramps wrote:He'd have taken Barnsley down and was supposedly on the brink of a sacking before Leeds came calling.
