Re: Darlington V Nuneaton
Johnston and even his missus copping some atrocious abuse at the end of the game. We could be managerless and chief executive less in the next few days. Then we’re in s*** street again, and who in their right mind would want to take it on. When I hear people saying sack the board I can’t decide whet...

Re: Clubs finances
Depressing how little money a club like us generates. Those figures won't be accurate but they won't be massively off either. It appears that to move forward at the moment you need to either have a benefactor putting in and writing off vast sums (not recommending that as we have had that before and ...

Hardy did not want the job, he was approached and spoken to but expressed very little interest in actually taking the role, hence why the club did not offer him the job. This has been mentioned several times before I'm sure on other threads. If he had really wanted the job he would have got it. As f...

Re: ‘Big interview’
Read that article and don’t buy a word of it. After having had a few of his little posse on here recently attempting to sling mud at the manager which didn’t work, it appears that the next plan of action is to try the ‘I’m not such a bad guy really’ routine. If the rumour mill is to be believed he t...

Make that three new sponsors on board:

Safe to say the new commercial director has had a busy first week. Long may it continue.

Two new sponsors confirmed already: https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/news/welcome-to-smart-pads https://darlingtonfc.co.uk/news/welcome-to-fresh-utilities Only small wins, but without us having someone in place to go out and get them it's likely we might not have brought these sponsors on board. Let's hop...

Re: Ashton United on Monday
Short term the immediate priority has to be to shore up the defence and make us more difficult to play against which will hopefully stop us shipping goals. At the moment in games we look like we will concede every time a team attacks us. As for Saturday, Denton will be a huge threat. Him and Alfreto...

We definitely need to improve our home form this season if we have aspirations of challenging for the play offs, and also increasing crowds. Last season we lost seven games at home and only won 9 out of 21 home games, and whilst there was a lot of turmoil and change, that needs to be improved this s...

Good listen that Podcast.
Biggest positive was that we are now debt free, which is a massive turnaround from where we were twelve months ago. For the first time in a very long time we appear to be in a very healthy financial position. Long may it continue.

Hughes is a direct replacement for Turnbull. From what I've seen of Hughes in pre season he looks like he could be a very shrewd signing, only thing I would worry about would be his fitness levels but hopefully as time goes on that should improve. He will be the holding midfielder giving Wheatley an...

Re: Mr Gray in todays NLP
Reported fee of £350,000 they've paid for Rooney. Not confirmed mind. If true, it dwarfs the £250,000 a year budget we have for next season, the financial madness that used to be largely confined to the top levels of the game has spread to all levels of the game. Was reading an article about the Sou...

We’ve recruited very well on paper this summer, we’ve now got a smaller squad that looks lean, with a good mix of experience and hungry young players that will want to impress and improve. And most importantly, we’re not going to be overspending either or spending an individuals money on a playing s...

Re: Josh Heaton looks like he is on his way
Regarding the standard of football that Josh Heaton is going to be playing in. You have to be realistic about Scottish football, the population of Scotland is 5.2 million, it's a small country. The fact that a league in a small country of five million people has Celtic getting 60,000, Rangers 50,000...

Re: Josh Heaton looks like he is on his way
Great move for him and a good bit of business for us. I'd imagine that there will be plenty of add on clauses that we won't get to find out about, but he's going there to play first team football so will have an almost immediate chance to impress. I will be, like I'd imagine we all will be, watching...

House of Fraser currently have 59 stores in the UK. This closure plan will see 31 of these stores close, including the one on Oxford Street in London and the one in Birmingham City Centre. If they are closing stores they have on the most famous shopping street in the UK and also a city centre locati...

Unless their potential new owners can somehow grow the fanbase and develop higher revenue streams so that the club is self sufficient at this level they will go through this cycle every few years until eventually there is no one there to take over, and we know what happens then. We've been there and...

Re: Season Ticket Sales 2018/19
With the 500 club and the early bird sales we currently have not too shy of 800 season ticket holders for next season. Next big push should be to hit the 1,000 mark. Be a huge achievement to hit the number after three administrations, being demoted down to Step 9 and having played out of town for 4....

Season Ticket Sales 2018/19
Update on the Facebook page. We’ve sold 150 early bird season tickets to date, with the early bird offer ending on the 30th April. I’ll be honest, I thought it would be more than that. Wasn’t expecting huge numbers put thought it would around the 250/300 mark. The club released the early bird offer ...

Recruitment will likely be impacted by whether or not we can remove certain players who are surplus to requirements off the wage bill. Burgess being the main one as his contract runs until summer 2019 I believe and with him previously being club captain I'd imagine he is paid pretty well. Liam Marrs...

Discounted Entry v Boston. Sat 7th April
Just received an e-mail from the club regarding this. I'd have thought Spennymoor would be the one he is most likely to go to.
Although don't rule out South Shields, that statement might say he wants to play higher but money talks, and they've shown in the last few years years that they have the resources to pull off a signing like this.

Now that Turnbull and Cartman have stated on Twitter they have committed for next season, it looks as though the management will be staying, it looks like we potentially have a bit of stability again after a few months of turmoil. My question is, if Gray stays and retains the majority of this team, ...

Re: From the Board of Directors Summary of Appeal
If we are to get to the football league, outside investment will be required. We simply do not have the fanbase to raise sufficient funds to get the ground upto football league standard and then put a team on the pitch that would win us promotion from the National League. When you look at how much n...

Re: Playing Budget for next season
It's definitely sensible, and season ticket sales will ultimately dictate what our ambitions are for the next season and going by that, the next few seasons. If we don't get promoted this season then season ticket uptake will dictate what our ambitions are for next season in this league. Good uptake...
