Re: National League North 23/24 - FA League Allocations
I question that the 'national league' should actually be a national league anyway. It's a recipe for financial disaster stories and we shouldn't have non-league sides having to do monster journeys on limited budgets. Expand the football league to 100 sides, and below that, make football regional. A...

Re: 23/24 Festive Fixture Pairing
Would much prefer Scarborough again, they were two very good competitive games and good followings from both sides which added to the atmospheres, but can't see past us getting Spenny. Imagine the festive fixtures will look something like the below. Blyth v South Shields Darlo v Spenny Bishop Stortf...

Re: Local clubs released lists
See Cedric Main has left Blyth. Seemed to play well in the games against us. 10 goals in 42 games for Blyth this season.
Maybe not quite what we need in terms of an out and out target man. But one who might be on our radar.

Re: National League North 23/24 - FA League Allocations
Oxford City into an early lead in the NLS playoff final. On a personal note would love Bishop Stortford in the NLN. An away game only 20 minutes from home isn't common when you live in East Herts. Also hoping Kiddy can beat Brackley too, considering I've lost some of the more local trips to Ketterin...

Re: Meeting with board
It would be great to hear something from the club, even if it was something fairly bland of "positive meeting, looked at current squad and who we want to keep and looking to discuss deals with those players. Talked about results last season (the good and the bad), and finally what's needed next seas...

Re: Peterborough Sport v Darlo
Why not play at Peterborough North Star? I appreciate its not ideal but it should be okay. You have to play at an appropriately graded ground for the level that you're at. So would have to be a category B ground or above. Not an awful lot of choice around that area of the country unfortunately for ...

Re: Peterborough Sport v Darlo
Not even the possibility of transferring the game to Peterborough Utd as they are at home to Bristol Rovers on Saturday. Very poor from PS and the league. Some are saying on Facebook that this is improvement work that should have already been completed, and the league have allowed them more time. I...

Per the official announcement game is now to be played at Kettering due to ongoing ground works at Peterborough sports ground which impact capacity and segregation. Not particularly fair on Darlo fans who have booked train tickets to Peterborough. In circumstances like this Peterborough should have ...

Re: Who stays and who goes
It's hard to talk about players and targets without knowing who other clubs will be releasing. But I do think there are need some fundamentals that need installing into the team for next season: A big aggressive head it kick it CB who is vocal and can organise what's infront of them. 2 full backs wh...

Re: Darlington v Kings Lynn Saturday April 22nd 2023
Wasn't really expecting anything from today's game. Kings Lynn are a good side and easily bested us 3-0 earlier in the season at their place when we were still at full strength. But despite DJ's calming words, I am worried about the general apathy that there seems to be around the club atm. The 'we ...

Re: Darlington v Curzon Ashton Tuesday April 18th2023
Selection-wise I would revert to a 433. Play Felix, Nelson and Hazel up top and bring in Liddle in front of Moke and Purver. Back 4 will depend on injuries etc but Newall has to play (either LB or even left midfield if the manager opts for 442. He’s great going forward and can actually cross a ball...

Re: Brackley V Darlington
Don't really know what to say after yesterday. Just feel a bit empty and deflated by it all really. We should have been ahead on 4 minutes, for the 3rd time in 3 matches Hazel has been 1v1 with the keeper. Unlike v Blyth and Bradford PA his first touch didn't let him down this time but he rolled it ...

Re: South Shields
Personally would love Bishop Stortford in the NLN as it would be a nice local game for me being based in East Herts. But I think in reality because the likes of Gloucester, Banbury, Brackley are already in the north it makes more sense for a team like Oxford City to be moved across from NLS. As for ...

Re: Darlington V Bradford PA
It doesn't get any better re watching the highlights. Ref in a good position for both the Bradford PA pen and the handball incident. But fails to notice their lad challenge TT when he has the ball in two hands and their lad basically catch the ball between his arm and body, no help from his linesman...

Re: Darlington V Bradford PA
Cooper back available, but after a decent performance from Lawlor and Sukar in the middle and Newall at left back against Blyth. I think it's likely to be the same back four. Shame Griffiths, Liddle and Lambert remain injured as they would provide much needed support. But still plenty in our first t...

Blyth v Darlo
Time to banish this bad form and secure our place in the playoffs. Blyth have similar form to us over the last 5 games, I'm sure they'll be well up for it and keen to get in our faces and spoil our day. But plenty of talent in our squad and these lads really are plenty good enough to get a result ag...

Massively frustrated by the game yesterday, cant comment in terms of performance as I wasn't there. But have been at Leamington and Kettering in recent weeks and seen the trends in our performance. Re: Latest Accounts
Am I understanding the figures correctly? We made a loss of £183,000. So was it that with the Boost the Budget figure of £136,000 the 'real' loss was just £47,000, or without the Boost the Budget figure of £136,000 the loss would have been £319,000, or even (simply) incorporating the Boost the Budg...

Banbury vs Darlo
Long trip back down to Oxfordshire this evening, and one that feels a bit must win based on our recent form. Get a win tonight and it takes a little bit of pressure off getting a result against Chester on Saturday. Banbury are in bad form having similarly been pilfered by full time clubs for a few o...

Re: Kettering v Darlington
That really wasnt good enough. If anyone can explain our tactics to me today I'm all ears. Bobbly pitch but every time our back four had the ball pressure or not it was hoofed high towards Hazel and Nelson. Target man Blyth on the bench but the tactic seemed to be to play long to Hazel and Nelson al...

Re: The Top 17, Saturday Mar 11th 2023
Not too bad a set of results for us last night with Chester losing and Brackley & Kings Lynn sharing a point. We really need to get our season back on track at the weekend. I would have said if we want to be fighting for 3rd, 4th, 5th we would have needed 10 points from 5 games. Vs Fylde, Hereford, ...

Darlo v Curzon Ashton
Not local to Darlo so can't comment on the chances the game has. The weather forecast makes it look a little bleak. But if we do go ahead, it feels like a really important game for our season. We need to put in a 90 minute performance and get back to winning ways. The players are more than capable, ...

Re: Darlington V Kidderminster 25.02.2023
Will be a tough game tomorrow. But one were certainly capable of winning. Will be interesting to see what we do formation wise. Unless a big 6'0+ CF comes in today I'd be tempted to go 4-3-3. Sukar gets the nod for me, but if he's still feeling unwell then could bring Brookwell in. Plenty of players...

Re: Buxton Tuesday February 21st
Watching the highlights, we certainly deserved at least a point out of the game, if not maybe a little unlucky to get more. At least 2 good saves in there from their Keeper as well as the Hazel effort and freekick which both struck the post. Whilst at the other end Tommy was largely untroubled. You ...
