Re: Sutton Coldfield Away FA Trophy

Should be a strong team tomorrow. I would guess it will be: Jameson Brown, Burgess, Hunter, Galbraith Mitchell, Nowakowski, Portas, Thompson Gaskell, Cartman. Subs: Armstrong, Gibbons, Kneeshaw, Callaghan, Scott. Progession in this competition would be really good for us. Although the prize money is...

Re: Outgoings????

Unfortunate that Youhill has been listed but I can see the reasoning Mitchell is a quality play and can cover full back too. I'd imagine Kneeshaw can play wide too. I'd imagine the Czech lad will be on his way too. Gibbons may be in danger but again as a good player it would be a shame to see him go...

Re: Squad for Saturday and ongoing

I think looking at that squad list there are a couple of players who I would now be looking to move on and make some savings. As far as the overspend goes it does need to be reduced as much as possible. Any money taken out of the back to darlo fund is a false economy. Just highlights the importance ...

Re: Salford

As apposed to their 5 millionaire and 1 billionaire owners bankrolling their success on top of 200 £50 season ticket holders and gates of about 400. I don't think they'll ever be short of cash. But as others have said they out played Notts County last night and definitely deserved to be in the next ...

Whitby home or away might be a good draw for us in the next round. Would mean a pretty decent crowd and you'd fancy our chances of progressing.

Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.

I'd imagine that becomes a CM partnership of Portal and Nowakowski if Turnbull is unavailable. Still probably one of the best partnerships in the league based on experience and technical skill.

Re: FA Trophy - Mossley Match thread.

Good to get through today with all the changes to the team. The comments on Nowakowski performance are promising considering it sounds like Turnbull may be injured for a while. Could be a great option for us in the centre of midfield, powerful.and strong winning lots in the midfield.

Wonder if Altrincham might fancy him. Got to think might be a risk that if he continues doing so well the salford express might role into town.

Re: The Arena

Capacity is initially based on the hard standing around the pitch of which there is only the tarmaced pieces on 2 sides. As well as turnstiles we'd need to think about flood lights upgrading, adding toilet facilities as well as finding a way to increase capacity through an extra stand. In my opinion...

Re: The Arena

The way I look at it is - the only way the club will ever become truly self sufficient and master of its own destiny is to own it's own ground, something that historically we've never had, think about what that would prove if we could do it as a fan owned club! I'm sure that's something that even o...

Re: Lewis Dodds

Difficult to say we need more players when our operational budget is about at maximum. This is where there is a gap from our days higher in the football pyramid when if we looked short in defence or any other position we could bring in young loan signings from pro clubs without the burden of having ...

Re: AGM notice & annual accounts

Cheers for clearing that up lo. Interesting point on getting our name back too. Surely like you say the settling of the old clubs debts and closing of the liquidation process, coupled with the length of time we will have been without our name, would mean we have a strong case for returning to Darlin...

Re: AGM notice & annual accounts

Really comprehensive reporting from the club which answers a lot of questions in terms of the financial stability and the operations. Deserves a lot of praise to those who put their hard work and effort into writing it. As we all knew anyway, getting back to the town is the key issue. We know we're ...

Re: Lee Gaskell signs

Quite the opposite I think. This means we can rotate our forward line. And condisering the amount of games we play in the north west we now have a player who does not have to do the long range travels to these games after a day at work which is one of the real struggles for PT teams and mid week gam...

Re: Update from the Board of Directors

Exactly. Bishop have to spend that money on the ground. Unless they plan on sticking in a heskeylator to get to the bar then you would expect it would be a ground grading improvement. Of course I assume that 300k is making them some interest at the moment which doesn't have to be spent on the groun...

Re: Update from the Board of Directors

Sad that the deal seems to be dragging on and on, each time it's not positive news it seems as though it will never happen. The arena would be the obvious plan B but there's no obvious signs that we're needed. Always conflicting evidence coming out as to their financial position. Maybe it is time to...

Re: Ryan Brobbel signs for Quakers

Youhill has been out injured and is still not fully fit; I'd be utterly stunned if he left without any serious game time. We have the best attendances, leading to a decent budget and a larger squad. Being able to rest and rotate is huge at our level and shouldn't be underestimated. Think this is a ...

Re: Puzzled about ground requirements

A semi permanent structure (like Histon/Barnet) is laid on a solid base of tarmac or concrete, and is securely fastened to the ground, and built using 'traditional methods', i.e. nuts and bolts, and steel. It does not have foundations which makes it moveable, but it is essentially a well constructe...

Re: Puzzled about ground requirements

Does anyone know what the rules are regarding semi permanent structures? I know we aren't allowed to add our temp seating to the capacity at HP. Is that simply because they are not firmly afixed to the ground? Lots of clubs seem to be using these kinds of stands now as a way to add capacity eg. The ...

Re: Puzzled about ground requirements

The regulations are there to safely stage and manage the crowds at matches. It's not just about capacity but how you can deal with and manage that capacity for example. Getting people into the ground, HP only has 4 turnstiles, add an extra 1000 people to the attendance coming through those turnstile...

Just out of interest does anyone know what level Spennymoor's ground is graded to? Seems like there is a half decent amount of infrastructure there. Although from memory it is a little tight on parking. Could be an interesting consideration going forwards should it be needed.

Think its worth mentioning too the in terms of Dale (last years Evo-Stik player of the year) and Wearmouth we were against 2 very decent wide men today and it sounded like Gibbons more than held his own. Good result today. Long away trips are never easy to deal with interms of getting the legs working after a long journey. Scored 4 goals with White as a make shift striker and created chances for more by the sounds of it. So we have plenty of positives from the game. Need to see the highlights to see...
