Re: Raise the roof
I'll be honest - I thought we'd get nowhere near raising the amount. To need less than 18k with 6 weeks or so to raise it is a staggering effort  It is the Gray effect. He fucks off and people start building our club again. Good point, the speed with which this money is being raised is stagge...

I wouldn’t expect him to be playing Saturday... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Why not exactly? Surely if he is our player they can’t stop that? If it is Styche I will be surprised if he plays Saturday, would imagine a clause would be agreed between the 2 clubs. But is it Styche? Sent from my XT...

Re: Styche is our new striker!
Have to agree with Quakerman on this one. We came back into the game second half against York but first half they battered us and should have been 4-0 up if it wasn’t for some of the worst finishing I’ve seen in years. Time to focus on the positives now...the 3 signings TW has brought in all seem p...

Re: Styche is our new striker!
To be fair to Gray, you can understand why he would want back-up... he currently only has SIX strikers on the books at York and, looking elsewhere in the squad, he's now down to just four keepers. Wait until he really gets into his stride with his signings  He's like a loose cannon with that...

Re: Welcome Greg Mills and Luke Trotman
Totally agree Nick, TW seems so likeable compared to Gray, even when we were winning he still looked full of hell, just wonder how the York players are finding him?.Really hope Tommy and Whitey are a big success, a win Saturday will hopefully kick start our season before a run of tough games. If we c...

Re: FA Trophy draw....
Tough draw, could have been easier but also could have been much worse, as Spenn said they were well beaten by Spenny and with possibly 3 new signings to come in we will give them a good game without doubt.

Atkinson has joined York as a first team coach, their budget must be huge! Plus Penney as Sporting Director and who else from the previous manager setup. If they fail to go up this season they could be in big trouble financially if McGill decides enough is enough. No pressure there Gray, best of luck...

All keepers make mistakes at this level but I have seen him have some cracking games for Spenny and I think he is a good solid signing for us and would not be worried in the least if he got the nod over Ed.Not the biggest but a great shot stopper.

Re: From the Echo Wright attempts to bring new signings
Bet they'll be in the hunt for the same strikers as us. They've got Armstrong on the transfer list and Fewster who hasn't troubled the goalscoring charts and got crocked when they dumped the poor bugger into the line-up for a Durham Challenge Cup game. Completely forgot about Fewster Lucan, god kno...

Re: Netcafe with Wright on Thursday
I was thinking the same thing H1987. Gray was happy to take the glory and good times but as soon as we looked to have slowed down and needed a little time to rejig things both on and off the pitch he caused trouble then flounced off. Surely every sensible person can see that sorting this out will t...

Re: From the Echo Wright attempts to bring new signings
I’d take Purewal, Hardy, Watson and Mitchell. Would not be interested in Fisher or Dowson. Hardy was superb alongside Beck at the beginning of last season, but it was clear that Gray never trusted him. Wasn’t Mitchell given the boot as Gray didn’t agree with his holiday? Watson was arguably better ...

Surprised that Gray did not try to come back again for Beck, just wonder if McGill is reigning him in a bit on his spending as their squad numbers are pretty substantial.

I think Cartman is finding this level too good for him and I van't understand the love affair that seems to exist between Cartman and elements of the tinshed. Looks like york could be in for Whitby goalkeeper Shane Bland. There squad must be demoralised already with the amount of signings coming through the door. Re: Mark Beck
That's 5 signings that Gray has made since joining York. The expression "kid in a sweet shop" springs to mind. McGill surely cannot keep pumping money in Gray's direction, they must have a massive squad by now, that's 2 new strikers in a week and more than likely waiting for Beck to prove his fitne...

Sealed his place among the Darlo legends... what an impact. Gray has never lost his eye for a player. What surprises me is why he has chopped and changed the team as they looked a very good side when we played them, and it was only because of the best goalkeeper in the league that we were not 4 down at half time.Typical Gray changing for changes sake and in the space od 4 weeks appears to be digging...

Re: Blyth V Darlington FC match thread
If the centre back situation is going to continue with Galbraith required in there then we need a specialist left back pronto. And we are desperate for someone to make things happen in and around the penalty box because we didn't really look like scoring during the second 45 minutes. It's all right...
