Re: Spennymoor Fixture Congestion

and now their game was abandoned tonight, its another midweek game to fit in. i hope they draw it and have a replay. The Northern League cup games are settled on the night - no replays. I believe this is the case for Durham Challenge Cup games as well. However as long as they are winning - more game...

Re: At spenny tonight

I was also at Spenny tonight. I have been going to Spenny games occasionally over the last 20 years and the ground is the best I have ever seen it. They have certainly tidied the ground up and tarmacked all the areas that were rubble and grass, since my last visit last season. The ground, in my opin...

Re: Irrelevant and pointless maybe, but...

I bought 2 copies (by mistake, only wanted 1) of the Penrith v Darlo programme off the internet. Only to find they are different. Are Darlo fans getting ripped off buying progs at 2/3/4 times face value only to find they are reproductions/reprints/non originals? Surely we could set up programme sub...

Re: Dunston game MOVED to Friday night

Just wait for others to be moved! Newton Aycliffe have in the past moved to a Friday night some big games as they get a bigger crowd. That game is in December, however I would not be surprised to see it played on a Friday. How much notice we will get is another thing. Saturday the 8th Septemeber, we...

I picked up a ticket at the Durham City - Bishop Auckland friendly on Saturday. I was speaking with a director of Bishop and he is confident that all 2000 tickets will sell before the match. So if you are planning on going - get a ticket. Also don't forget that this is the Northern League. There is ...

Re: Josh Gray & Adrian Webster

Always thought Gray was decent in the few times I saw him, so he should do a good job at this level. I think I've read one or two comments from people on NLZ saying he was very good for Aycliffe, as you'd expect really. I saw Gray play for Aycliffe on about 3/4 occasions and unfortunately he did no...

Most NL teams charge £1 however the standard varies greatly.

Shildon did charge £1.50 last season on the 2 occasions I visited.

I'd imagine that for the Northallerton game, most people will travel by train if they don't have access to a car, as I think it is only a short walk from the station to the ground. It's about a mile from the ground I think Well that's about half the distance from Bishop Auckland train station to th...

This weekend I was away with friends in Carlisle, so my mate and I decided to have a look at Gilford Park's ground - Celtic Nation for next season. Both with Durham City last season. Previously both at Bishop Auckland. One is a central Defender and the other is a forward.

The league cup draw is made at the League's AGM, however the cup games don't start till about Late September/early October. As we don't enter until round 2, we wont be playing until around November. The dates will be arranged by each club having a free midweek date. So we wont know a date until we h...

Great Night!!
Lets make this a regular thing.
If we are to become the ' Community Club' or 'Fans club' then we need to engage more with the fans and the fans need to feel connected.
Tonight, to me , was just the start of fans regularly coming together to enjoy themselves -- not just at home games!!

The pitch was atrocious in the first year, however last season it was very good. It kept green all year. It will get hammered, however going on last season and on what I saw, I think we will be fine.

If we do miss out on the cup competitions, it is potentially a large chunk of revenue we're not now getting. Bugger! Fucking FA bastards! Clubs only get 45% of the revenue so unless we had a very good cup run we may not actually miss out on that much Don't we (or wouldn't we) get prize money for ge...

Re: Ray Simpson Tweet - Prominent NL say DFC in NL

If 1883's Darlington FC end up in the Northern League, prepare for a hell of a shock. It is the strongest league at its level. It is no coincidence that the FA Vase has remained in Northern League hands for 4 seasons and this season saw an all NL final. If the club is placed in NL 1, providing it c...

This is no rumour. The FA have contacted the Northern League to confirm that they are willing to accept both Durham and Darlington into the Northern League. The FA have to do this so that they know where clubs can be placed once they have had their end of season meeting to confirm promotions, relega...

Of course we can swap ends at half time.

You can stand where you like and you can watch the match while you're queueing for a burger and a bovril.

You can wear your flat caps and take your rattle with you.
