Re: Spennymoor Thursday

That post was at 3-47pm when the pitch inspection was meant to be at 4-30pm, sorry and thanks for confirming the venue, can't wait.
The post would have been at 4.47pm, but the site isn’t adjusted for BST. Confusing!

Re: Spennymoor game off

Out of interest, what happens when a team plays a 'home' game on another ground? In this instance, do Spenny pay Harrogate a fixed fee and then take the gate receipts, do they share in agreed percentages, or what? Whatever way, I guess there is an income loss to Spenny - including fewer of their own...

Re: FCUM v Darlington Match Thread

I had a quick look once or twice, to see if there was a thread. The first time that none has existed until after the game has finished? I guess that the radio broadcasts + Flashscores have taken over for just about everyone who cannot make a particular game. Oh yes, a good result! Did we deserve it?...

Re: This weeks games, Tuesday Apr 10th & Wednesday Apr 11th

As always, Ginge's scribbles and thoughts (which must take some time and effort, updating from version to version) are much appreciated. I have had a gut feeling for some time that Alfreton are going down, with no logic to the thought whatsoever. Easy to be able to speculate like that when you are n...

As for Southport, assuming not this Wednesday, they are at Blyth the following mid-week. That would seem to leave Wednesday 18th or 25th April, with Spenny the other mid-week. Begins to look like 5 games for us in the last 15 days of the season.

Come on, Pete, must be time for a post along the lines of:

Salford clearly going from strength to strength, after their draw at N. Ferriby. More unhappy bunnies among the fans there, no doubt.

Re: Tuesday’s Games

I wish I could join in the playoffs’ euphoria, but. I don’t see it. Say we won 5 of our remaining games and drew the others = 63 points. To finish ahead of Kiddie and Blyth we would be looking at them getting no more than 10 points from 10 games - unlikely. Not so easy for Stockport, Spenny, Corley ...

Very much looking forward to Ginge’s update. Think I’d be more than a little worried if I were an Alfreton supporter.

Isn’t that only fair, that they have to climb the mountain, given they could have 20 points less than the team that finishes second?

Tuesday’s Games

Interesting, listening from the sidelines this evening. Away wins for Telford and Gainsborough would certaily make things very tight at the bottom - with, presumably, N. Ferriby finally relegated officially. And Spenny to drop out of the playoff positions?

I can’t believe I’m the only one that finds threads like this so sad. I can understand that, thankfully, people have different views on things. It is the way that people deal with them. Perhaps people need to be willing to say, ‘Sorry’, even when they believe they are right? The world might then be ...

As always, ginge, many thanks. I love stats and I will always head to one of your posts ahead of any other. Sleepless night and, instead of counting sheep, tried to work out whether or not N. Ferriby can, given their amazing run of one victory, avoid relegation. Got my knickers in a twist over the permutations. Perhaps Ginge can give an answer and allow me to get back to the sheep next time?

Ourselves excepted, it really is dog eat dog among the bottom teams this Saturday. Far too many permutations possible, but we are very likely lower than 18th if we don’t win.

Re: Leamington v Darlo

Of course we want a win and 'need' a win. But a draw or loss today does not mean relegation. It may be a very negative way of looking at things but teams are at the bottom end of leagues because they lose and, although they have games in hand on us, Gainsborough and Telford will keep tending to lose...

Re: Could Saturday's game be under threat?

Must be some doubt, given the night time minima forecast of 0 or -1 until the weekend. It would be a frozen pitch that kills it, not snow or rain. I can certainly see an early morning pitch inspection on Saturday resulting in a postponement.

I’m not despondent after last night. As others have said, we stretched Salford plenty of times and clearly had them rattled. On the other hand, it was obvious they played faster, direct football. With the ball in their own half they ran forward at speed and passed along the ground = basic higher div...
