Re: Pitch inspection
Only 4 games on today in NLN, but the 3 other teams in the relegation zone, Bishop Stortford, Gloucester and Kings Lynn are all in action. Could do with them all losing. Which they nearly did! Only a 90+1 min equalizer by King's Lynn spoiled the day. Now we need to make the most of our games in hand.

Re: Jassem Sukar
Quite suprised that Scarborough wanted to take him, perhaps they are short on defenders. I know some on here rate him, and I would agree he gives 100% but for me his distribution is really poor. Barrow looks a far more accomplished left back and Siddick a better left sided central defender. Spot on...

Re: New Signing
"Attacking midfielder" sounds promising as we do not have enough players who get into the opposition box. Also no mention of phrases like "recovering from long-term injury" or "lacking match fitness", so hopefully he will be straight into the squad.

Shame about Siddik missing this one as he seemed to have slotted into the defence so well. Hope Barrow can keep going as per Kings Lynn game.

Re: Boost The Budget January 2024
There are few advantages to being fan owned but at least BtB gives us some say & involvement. Some King's Lynn fans were envious & their owner gave us a mention too. https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/24031330. ... lynn-town/

Great start by Barrow at King's Lynn. Bit surprised he lasted on the pitch so long, but could have been risking a relapse. Hope he keeps fit & turning in such great performances which could get us out of a hole!

Re: Kings Lynn v Darlington 6/01/24
King's Lynn are full-time yet looked like a pub team. How are the mighty fallen? Absolutely made up for SW, Barrow /Siddik / Curry & the whole team who executed a smash & grab to perfection. Hope we have turned the corner & with another BtB will give SW a bit of dosh to work wonders with in 2024.

Just hope Hazel doesn't turn up and put in a display to rub our noses for letting him go. As Andypark says, now is the time to get behind the lads.

Re: Who next?
For me there is only one person for the job to get us out of this mess and that is Martin Gray. He is available and is Darlington’s most successful manager ever and what he did to restart the club should never ever be forgotten. Sorry, Martin G would not get us out of this mess although DFC will fo...

Re: Darlington V Bishops Stortford
Ahead of the game, I felt hopeful that we had turned the corner after the win over Gloucester & Danny R's preview with injury list shortening & new signings. Even the bench seemed stronger, but these omens were shattered by onfield display of ineptness, lack of creative attacks and determination. Cr...

Looks like the team have bonded, presumably after having 2 weeks to train & prepare. Gloucester were on a good run & at home which made the clean sheet victory seem even sweeter. Hope we have now turned the corner & kick on up the table.

Any chance of a loan from Scunthorpe? Not any player but their director Tahina Akther a barrister who was the person responsible for creating their CIC. Some miracle worker there!

At the end of the day Gowlings signings have been just awful, barring a couple. I cannot see us surviving if he remains in charge and if the board stick with him next season really think the BTB will be a disaster. Re: Darlington V Rushall
⬆️ See your point. I like Salkeld - he's got potential, I think we'll see him improve. Yes, he has tried a fair few positions but up front in centre seems right for him. Asante or Nelson could forge a decent partnership with him& have put away some of the half chances he created and start the team ...

Re: Warrington
1st 45mns we played really well, pressed & had a bit of luck when Warrington hit our bar. Defence held a high line very well & we scored a rare Rivers goal to round off an excellent move. 2nd half we had a chance to wrap it up if Moke had shot rather than passing. Gradually Warrington got on top & i...

Gutted Burton has gone back, was really hoping we would be able to extend his loan, I honestly don’t think Sukar, lees or lawlor are good enough (in my opinion) but it is what it is! Agree with all that. Loanees are at best a sticking plaster solution which can lead to complications if we get to re...
