Re: 10 games in
Injuries and suspensions haven’t help us. I think we’re a good team when we’re not battling injuries or suspensions. We obviously lack depth and the decision to go with a smaller squad is perhaps a debate for another day. That said we’ve probably got two players on our books who may or may not play...

Re: Styche and Ainge
Not sure how bad the jet lag is from Lichtenstein, but Gib (& Styche) failed to score whilst the squad players took their chances & makes it a tough decision for TW as who to leave out. So if Kane doesn't bag for England does Pochettino have to consider leaving him out? International form is irrele...

Re: Darlington v AFC Telford
Fully in support of that side and set-up, although whether he has had the time in training to fully brief them on the system is the main concern. For me, deviating from the 4-5-1 system that was serving us well last season is the main reason for our 'indifferent' start. We had a system that worked a...

Superb. We were all wearing Santa hats (far too prematurely) which got us some attention of the great Barry Davies I think.

Re: Darlington V Altrincham
It will be interesting to see the line up that TW decides on for Saturdays game. Probably a reshuffle in the back 4 and definitely one in the midfield. I think we should still go for 4 4 2, Hughes needs a run of games, this is his chance. Maddison, Trotman Burn Galbraith O'Hanlon, Thompson Hughes E...

Re: Extra security measures for Gray on Saturday.
It’s the usual 10-12 twitter trolls who all follow each other and try to out do each other with the most outrage. I suspect they never actually get of their arses and actually help the club. Gray I’m sure will get some banter but the majority of fans would prefer a Darlo win and go home happy. I ha...

I don't think I have ever celebrated a goal more wildly than Elliott's winner at Forest. To coin a phrase I am infinitely too old to use: "limbs".

Really sorry to hear that the drummer (a very good mate) was getting stick. People forget he is fan too, who has to lug that thing around and accrue countless blisters every match. When I did it (retired in 2009!) it was fun but thankless at times. The drum should supplement the atmosphere, not be e...

Re: Halifax going up
Look at this man, it is epic. Makes you realise how much harder we seemed to get it in 2012 compared to teams like Halifax and Chester. They may have gone pop, but at least they didn't pay off historic debts and had perfectly suitable stadiums to play in:

You far fetched idiot
Based on the above I assume you would have refused promotion had we won the playoffs in 1996 when we finished 5th (or 2008 when we finished 6th)?

Re: Next seasons playoffs
It works like this (taken from Non League Paper Twitter): - 6 teams - 2nd & 3rd get a bye into semis. 4th v 7th & 5th v 6th; - Winners then go into semi finals (versus either 2nd or 3rd); - Winners progress to final - In all cases the highest finishing team plays at home (except NL final @ Wembley) ...

On the other hand: - It does retain interest (and potential therefore sustain crowds) for a greater number of teams; - It gives a greater sense of advantage to those finishing highest, incentivising pushing for 2nd or 3rd place. Ultimately if people see this format as unfair then they probably feel ...

Yup, MG knew that he had sufficient respect / hero worship within the fan base (and power within the club) to get away with what was quite extraordinarily unprofessional conduct at the forum. It was only the gravitas of the bigger picture that meant we didn't focus on it. I imagine his relationship ...

I can't work out whether those who want to hear him out are either level-headed, reasonable people or forgetful, success hungry short-termists. Definitely the former - hearing him out doesn't mean anyone is going to say 'yes' to him just because he says he'll get us back to the football league. In ...

I'm trying to articulate mine, but every time I write them I appear to contract a temporary form of Tourettes. Ultimately, the questions have to address four core themes: 1, His inexcusable actions in 2012; 2, His motivations for investing in DFC now; 3, How this potential investment came about (in ...

Re: The investment
Our fans have got too used to winning, and seem unaware of the fact that this only really happened because private investors repeatedly fooked us over and landed us at a level where a number of promotions were always likely in a short term period. Did people honestly expect us to get back to the FL ...

Re: Potential new investors
It clearly says it is a list of teams who "dropped out of the league since 2005 and since come back up". Two teams up aside, I think that nine teams achieving this since 2005 does suggest it is not the impossible task we sometimes assume it to be. You're looking at a decent re-promotion rate (and I ...

I suppose at least in the Staunton et al. season we had 54 players. Haven't you guys just basically got rid of everyone decent and signed no bugger to replace them? If so surely it isn't purely down to him (his bizarre tictacs and lack of motivation aside)?

Going from Pawel Abbott up front in 08/09, to Lee "Toblerone Head" Thorpe at the start of 09/10 was a culture shock. Mor Diop was another from that horrific Staunton season. I've somehow managed to repress the memory of most of them, although there were about 50 of them. I am sure this has been pos...
