Re: Jim Provett
He is quite young, doesn't turn 27 until December according to the webternet. Must have some injury to revery to coaching so young? I have no idea if he was any good or indeed if he even played against us as I would always get lashed when we played Pools. Results over recent times suggest that is a ...

Re: Is Todd going for Futcher's record?
Reno, I don't think he will. Admittedly I ain't seen as much Darlo as you and others this season, but we played more football in the second half versus Cheltenham than we did in Futchers entire reign. I remember a goalless draw against Mansfield when Futcher was here. It was so bad I would have pref...

Re: Is Todd going for Futcher's record?
The thing about being gash is that wins really feel good. Daft as it sounds, over the last few seasons a win often sparked emotions of pure relief (ain's late goal v Grimsby last year) as opposed to elation. When you are crap you buzz the rest of the weekend. The best examples of that from the Arena...

Re: Is Todd going for Futcher's record?
Good digging MQ, I can confirm it was Eddie Kyle who took over for the final three games of the season, starting with that win over Rochdale. With reference to Futchers record on the previous post, the Northern Echo actually had that as a headline across the top of the page starting with "48 days, 1...

Re: 50 plus applications for Lincoln job
My criticism of the original post was that: a) it was a terrible attempt at s*** stirring which has unfortunately worked; b) As suggested quite rightly by Mikky this compares two clubs which have little more in common at the moment than the division they play in. It is not a fair comparison. BTW, po...

Re: You can it's mainly kids on this forum.............
I have not seen much football this season so am not in the best position to judge the pro's and con's of ousting Todd as yet. However, when the very level headed likes of Beaty start showing grave concern that does make me worry about if the current set up can turn it around. Not just eventually, bu...

Re: Our record at Lincoln
That 3-1 win down there a few years back (just after Penney took over?) was a 90 minute orgasm. Even better than the 45 minute orgasm we had enjoyed a few months previous with a 3-1 win at Peterborough.

The non-issue of pie prices aside, I have seen little evidence that communication with the fans has improved since Singh's takeover. I think that was the main point of the initial poster.

If you ever want to use the drum I had last season give us a shout and I will try and get it down. I am too old for that sort of thing now

More questions:
1, Milo: I note a link to a band under your avatar: does this mean we are moving from the prehitoric 'hitting' the drum (Geordie Quaker, 2003) technique to actually playing it?
2, Where will the new drum be? It hope it isn't next to me, those things do my head in.

Good work lads. The original one is temporarily out of action (injured/broken in a pre-seaosn transportation incident) so good to know it will not be missed. Are you lot planning on making this a permanent thing? Could mean I could hang up my beaters and focus my core tasks of alcohol consumption an...

Re: Appeal made to fans
I agree Mullet, and I suspect a fair proportion of fans would be open to one of your changes, but there is always the concern of upsetting the slight minority who have paid for their seat and don't wat to budge. Their call I suppose, but I will happily drag myself, drum and mates to wherever if it w...

Re: Appeal made to fans
Given that the publicity is free it only has to attract one fan to make it worthwhile. I know it won't have a huge effect but at least there is some form of communication at the moment: I doubt our commerical department have the buget to engage in any higher profile campaigns at the moment anyway. I...

Re: The worst start in nearly 60 years....
I can't remember who, but a few posters on here predicted the first half a dozen games may well be a nightmare owing to the fresh start. Teams can change: Darlo were 22nd after 9 games in 1995/96....
Saying that, I have not seen us yet so have no idea how Gash we are.

Re: Sky Sports Prediction- 12th
I can't believe I am going to say this, but I reckon we should cut some of the national media some slack here. Yeah, they don't know about the lower leagues like we do, and it is inevitable that they are going to base their predictions on the most publicly available knowledge on a given team. The Ti...

Do you honestly think it was Penney's idea to do that?
Even if similar events had happened at Darlo, the townsfolk would only have gone "aw, they are half way across the mall, I ain't going that far. Is there no free transport?".

Re: Away day moments
Top stuff here lads. Mullet, Gabba's goal at Orient was immense, it got pretty messy when they nicked the winner at the end didn't it? We only won one more league game after that. There were two consecutive years when we were bum raped at Millmoor: in 98/99 we went there top of the league, took the ...

Re: Away day moments
This is turning into a nice little follow up to the pointless nostalgia thread a week or two back. I will throw in a trip to Deepdale, Preston in 1996. It was the day they opened the Sir Tom Finney stand, the best stand I had seen to that point and a crowd of 11,000 came to see them turn us over. It...

Re: Are away fans exploited
I thought there were some 'guidelines' in place (if not regulations), stating that away fans cannot be charged more for 'like for like' accommoation? If this were true it would explain the Rochdale discrepancy: the away stand can have a higher admission as it is the only stand that is: - seated - at...

Re: Somewhere over the rainbow .....
Methinks they will also become for many sides the 'team to beat'; infact, you can imagine opponent managers geeing up their players to play against "that bunch of overpaid prima donna's who are only here for the money". Their chances of reaching the top four are greatly increased by the fact that th...
