He also dived to push away a strong shot from Salkeld late on, a good save.lo36789 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 8:57 pmNot sure I'd describe one from Salkeld as a save as much as he picked up a shot...theoriginalfatcat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 8:56 pmI listened on DFR. Didn’t this goalie make two good saves at the end of the match? I think from Salkeld.

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
And before somebody points out our record with those front 3 in the side at the start of this season under Alun, then you will also note the current league positions of those sides we faced in the opening 8 matches: 2nd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 15th. Yep, you couldn't expect AA to conjour w...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Ahh I forgot the season finished in September! If the board were so confident in Armstrong’s ability to give him a two year deal then they were stupid to get rid so soon in the season especially if there was money still in the kitty. Even if Armstrong had stayed we would not be in this mess now, we...

Who’s contracted for next season? Bar those, I’d probably only want to keep Hatfield if he’s not in the above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hatfield , Nelson and possibly Asante. Not sure on Main. Priority for me is ensuring Steve W and Terry M are with us. Can you imagine relegation with no ...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
Surely to make the fan-owned model work you need a minimum degree of talent, skills and enthusiasm among your fanbase. We want a fan owned club but we don't actually have any fans capable of running the club. Seems like there is a flaw in the plan.

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
If I employ someone or if they volunteer, legally I still have the same duty as care as if it were an employee. So .............. Yes, the board are volunteers, but they must be held accountable (same disciplinary procedure as an employee) for the state the club is in. 2023 has been a massive leap ...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
Bottom line is that the players are not strong enough, fit enough and just blatantly not good enough to keep us in this league. When did we last beat a strong, well organised, physical team………answer is, so long ago I cannot remember. Yes the ref was awful, yes they rolled around injured but even af...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
If we go down and it’s looking very likely now than any talk about a new stadium is nonsense, Blackwell will be quite adequate with lower crowds and far less away fans and reduced commercial revenue. We have a decent budget and going down probably one of the best budgets will see us favourites for ...

Re: Asante
Looking forward to today's preview "Asante will have a fitness test on a groin injury"! Bang on the money, the preview says exactly that. This was a quote back in July after he underwent 'minor surgery' on this groin injury: When asked how long he is set to be out for, Webb replied: “It will be a f...

Armstrong won't be getting paid for the entire length of his contract. There will have been a notice period, something like 3 months, and he'll get paid for that.

Re: Newport County AFC
I was reading about Newport County AFC and their renaissance today. There were battles again the Welsh FA who initially insisted on them reforming in the Welsh leagues, followed by having to play their home games in Gloucestershire when they joined the English pyramid. Eventually they won a High Co...

Is this game being streamed live? I've bought my pass and the game doesn't appear on the NLTV schedule? It was in the schedule until we’ll after 7pm. I too paid for a pass after I saw the team announced on social media. I assumed that the announcement of the team meant it is definitely going ahead ...

Re: New leisure facility at Faverdale
Generating income from 4G pitches was pretty central to the plan of how to pay off the loan required to build a new stadium. I'm sure someone might believe the plan but not sure if many investors will.

New leisure facility at Faverdale
Anyone know anything about the new leisure facility planned for Faverdale? Was a post about on TheTinShed and also on the property developers website. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7150179893484351488/ Looks an awful lot like those pitches would scupper our hope of making mone...

Relegation is absolutely nailed on, I know people want to believe but we are seriously awful and have been for a whole year. I'm struggling to see who we'd want to keep for next season. We have a squad of players where hardly any of them look good enough to play at this level. Better to use the 40K ...

Re: Southport
A point would be good away at a ground we always struggle at, a strong defensive display will be needed, if Southport are as direct as used to be. A point would be a good result under normal circumstances, but are you expecting us to beat Tamworth and Scunthorpe instead? We need wins, and if we don...

Re: Darlington V Scarborough
There needs to be a complete rebuild, from the players to the staff and the board imho. The club has malaise that has set in and been allowed to grow deep into every fibre, and leadership has allowed that. In the past 4 years are we any better off than we were before? On the field definitely not, o...
