Re: Weather on Saturday

Would there be any chance of anyone doing an earlier pitch inspection? Usual caveats apply, ie you are completely on your own if you get copped and I was in no way involved in any encouragement to commit an act of trespass on the hallowed turf  . In fact, on second thoughts, don't even atte...

Pitch inspection 8.30am. Can't see this one surviving the deluge we've had.

Re: Darlo v Salford - match thread

That's a shocking thing to call such a gentle, mild-mannered, caring human being. Can't imagine he's ever heard language quite like it. No wonder the co-manager wanted a fight with the fan. He must have been extremely hurt and upset. Perhaps some flowers through the post may help?

Re: Darlo v Salford

From a drainage point of view, that pitch is now probably worse than most of the school pitches in the North-east.

Re: Match Thread

For whatever reason we were bloody awful yesterday. Yes we took charge in the first half but in all honestly their keeper must have had one of his easiest games of the season. All that first half possession just came to nothing and the second half just slowly fizzled out for us. It's terrible to rea...

Of the 26,846 hardy souls left who still buy the paper, I think it's probably just about the six at the end who are Hartlepool supporters. The Echo are likely to hang on to all six of them as they are being very well catered for :D

They deserved their point tonight. Their second half performance was one of the best defensive displays by any team at HP this season.

Re: Salford v Darlo match thread

He never got a sniff, largely because while he was on the pitch there was no service. During that time the midfield looked disjointed and we seemed to be trying more to nullify them rather than playing our own game that we've had recently with Mitchell and Tommo bombing down the lines and creating c...

Re: WEATHER AGAIN

I notice Salford fans are already talking about the prospect of one or both of their games being off this week as the rain is relentless there. The pitch is already like a cow field and completely unsuitable for decent football. Still, Gary Neville could be back soon and in a position to sort it out...

Re: WEATHER AGAIN

I think that's a fair summary and it's something to bear in mind when the pitch is relaid (hopefully) at our new home. You need to do things right (even though it may cost a little more at the outset) to help avoid the possibility of frequent (and costly) problems in the future. I know this is not i...

Re: WEATHER AGAIN

Virtually all of the Northern League Divs 1 and 2 are unaffected by this morning's rain. The HP pitch is shockingly fragile now and seems to be waterlogged at the drop of a hat.

Re: True loyalty.

The two Salford games won't decide anything but the games are of increased significance. If we don't win the title then we need to be looking to finish second if we can, given the home-away play-off ramifications. Doing the double over them could give us a major boost. Beating major rivals above you...

Re: Match thread

Was astonishing that Buxton's team didn't come on a coach and the players drove up in a fleet of cars. And they didn't seem to have a physio with them. Times must be hard. To be fair to them, they gave a good account of themselves and it must have been a tough old journey all the way back down there...

All Salford have said is that it's all ticket after consultation with the FA. The number of tickets we have been allocated has been very clearly decided by Salford.

Re: 250 tickets for Salford game

If safety and security are the be all and end all for this game, then I don't believe anyone has offered a reasonable explanation as to why it is not segregated. Is it because they can't be arsed, don't have the stewards or don't want to go to the expense of it? Or is it that 250 Darlo fans equates ...

Re: 250 tickets for Salford game

The fact that there is no segregation makes it look very much like it's not about limiting the chances of any trouble and more about simply limiting the number of people cheering Darlington on in a big game. However you look at the decision, the net result is that a lot of genuine Darlington support...

Re: Darlington v Colwyn Bay

According to Colwyn Bay it was the "controversial" penalty decision that changed the whole course of the game. Their manager Kevin Lynch said: “Jordan Fagbola says he didn’t touch the guy who went down, and to make matters worse their player has said it wasn’t a foul either. “Goals and decisions lik...

Re: Front page news

They do need to stop whining and get on with it. The other clubs are saying "Nothing against darlo but we want the League to explain how they came to the decision" while the league says it's their policy not to enter into dialogue with others after they have given a ruling. Fact is the league took a...
