Re: Late Kick Off Feature Tonight
The takeover won't be completed on time because the money hasn't been raised. Madden won't sign the club over until the funds are there. Consequenlty, the conference may kick us out for not agreeing the CVA in time. And I read this as ....... Blah, blah, blah ....... <yawn> Like it or not, if we do...

Re: MAY 2nd
The CVA will be put to the creditors on this date - when will we hear anything? Will it be a quick process do you know? I am gearing up for the several dozen tweets which may, or may not, be helping the situation. I'm not sure exactly what the timings and process on the day are, but will attempt to...

Re: Late Kick Off Feature Tonight
He must have been talking to mobi. Why does the "if we get relegated 2 divisions" theme keep popping up? Are certain parties trying to slowly introduce us to the idea? I've always thought that Raj signs the waiver, then we're BSN, Raj doesn't sign the waiver, then we're toast. The takeover won't be...

Some questions
Bearing in mind we aim to run a sustainable business model, how will next season's playing budget compare to other sides in the BSN? If the fundraising does not reach 500K does this change your future budgetting? If debts cannot be paid now, how much debt is it acceptable to take in order to satisfy...

Re: why put ourselves through this
The things is, how can 1883 refuse any offer that Raj makes? Their entire project rests upon rescuing the club in its current form. Essentially they will agree to anything, because they have no other option.

Alternatively, the running costs could be crippling, and 1883 are wrong.Quakerz wrote:The Arena running costs can't be that crippling if 1883 think they can run it sustainably in the BSN.

Re: Latest Trust Statement
No, if you can't find a buyer, or cant raise enough funds to buy the club then it goes bust, simple as that. It's not a deliberate attempt to avoid debt or annoy creditors, is just what happens to businesses everyday. In fact most business people have probably had a bankrupt business at one time or ...

Re: Latest Trust Statement
OK, you raise capital exactly as we are doing now (not money to pay debt) and you probably ground share for starters. There is nowhere suitable. The RA we would outgrow within 1 season and it cannot be upgraded past northern league standard. Bishop Auckland's ground is Evostik graded so we'd probab...

Re: Latest Trust Statement
If it was a toss up between 1883 and the Trust to set up a phoenix club, then it's 1883 every day of the week for me. Ideally they'd join forces but this doesn't look doable. And here is problem number one with your phoenix dream, we will have potentially 2 new clubs and a fractured fan base. To be...

Re: Latest Trust Statement
OK, why bother starting a phoenix then? You just said nobody cares. Not enough care to sustain us in that stadium at the current level. More people care about us than other teams in the BSN or the Evostick, but no other clubs have to get 1900 just to break even. We do have more than enough support ...

so are you involved with the Trust ? and I wonder how forgiving most fans will be for the Trusts neverending silence during most of this administration ? a phoenix club has little appeal for me , no connection to me and I will probably go along to watch the RA instead. Re: Latest Trust Statement
If you're happy starting a phoenix club which will stall in the lower reaches of regional football then good on you, but luckily the majority of people rightly see this as the only way to keep football of any respectable standard in the town, and are willing to make a fist of it. This is where you ...

Re: Latest Trust Statement
Mobi, there are a lot of flaws in your plan. 1. Where will the money magically come from to start said Phoenix club. The money which has been raised so far was raised with one goal in mind - to save Darlington FC, not to start up a new club. Although Quakerz may be right and some choose to leave th...

Re: Latest Trust Statement
my impression is that the majority of people outside of this forum (yes, the real world) see option 1 as the only realistic approach. The club is irreparably broken. Do not waste good people's money on the debts of a bad business. Like I said, it's heart and not head. So £340,000 has been raised ma...

Ok Mobi in for a penny in for a pound, which parts of the 1883 attempt to save the club don't work for you. What would you currently do different. Re: Latest Trust Statement
I think the bigger question is, after the trust have put in their 40K, who are we then going to blame for the continued lack of investment? I'll mostly be blaming miserable, negative, sniping, vindictive bores like you who want the club's survival bid to fail. I thought so. I'm prepared to be the s...

Re: Latest Trust Statement
Quite correct that the trust's £40000 won't get us over the line. What it would do though is give a massive boost to the total, would convince the sceptics that we are all in this together, the fence sitters like myself would come back in and buy more shares, local businesses realising that we migh...
