Re: Curzon V Darlington

Their keeper could barely stand up, yet we weren't shooting. And what was even more mystifying were the short corners or outswinging corners instead of getting the ball under the crossbar. We had 9 shots in the second half. How many up until Hatfield's goal? 0 or 1 perhaps. There are 6 on the highl...

They're fine. As with the home kits, not sure what people expect really?

I've voted for 4 but I'd be happy with 3 as I always regret not getting that burgundy kit we had a few years ago when we played at Bishop Auckland.

Correct (although both already guessed above)!

Gareth Southgate also a member of the same team.

Re: Curzon V Darlington

Any keeper who has made it to semi-pro level, no matter how inexperienced, should be more capable playing in goal than an outfield player (with the odd exception where you have someone who has a decent level of experience in goal). Positioning and technique from someone who has been coached properly...

At least with him being on loan we can presumably terminate it early and use the money to bring someone else in if he's going to be sidelined for a while.

Yes and he knew the score so why did he accept a new contract if he wasn’t happy ? His time was up, move on the rest of us have. I concur. We are where we are and need to focus on the remainder of this season and then plan for next, whatever that involves. Mistakes have been made and we need to lea...

In the absence of Ginge and his stat machine, I've had a look at the fixtures for the bottom seven (realistically, the others are clear of being dragged into the relegation places). Even (rose-tintedly) allowing for us having the best record (W4 D5 L2), we still go down on goal difference. Might ne...

The only hope I cling onto is putting it that we need 6 more points than Kings Lynn, 7 more points than Banbury and 8 more points than Southport out of the 36 that there are to play for. We play Banbury and Southport so that is where we need 3 of them need to come from... I'd say we need 6 points f...

Only so much you can do with a hooped shirt, other than the collared shirt (which looks a bit like a golf top to me), they're all much of a muchness and all completely fine if you ask me.

Re: Darlington v Buxton

I was absolutely over the moon for Nelson yesterday to get the goal and assist. His injury problems do look way behind him and he has looked in recent months an energetic and hard working player - just without the goals. Hopefully that will give him a massive shot of confidence because he came on a...

That was a real cannon-fire of a shot by Nelson to earn the Victory... sorry but it had to be done :D. Pleased that he made amends for Tuesday's misses and played such a key role in a crucial win. It clearly meant a lot to him. Maybe just the confidence booster he needed. We stuck at it despite the...

It's generally accepted that the club has been run with a very modest budget... and there were still losses to be covered by Platten. Unless there are substantially increased income streams and a huge rise in attendances those losses will be magnified if this guy splashes the cash. Blyth probably a...

Re: More local competition for good players now at Blyth

I've seen a suggestion that it was £1 with Platten writing off £700,000 loans. It is therefore said to be debt free. There is still no evidence that this new owner has been linked to successful, long-term companies ie not ones that have been dissolved without filing any accounts. The basis for trus...

Nelson's had a tough time with injuries - plus it's only 4 years ago I saw him at Tynecastle scoring the winning goal for Dundee v Hearts in the scottish prem in front of 15,500 people. can only hope Steve Watson can get into his head and turn him around. Lengthy layoffs and knee injuries can be ha...

Guess it just brings it home when you do read of other clubs in takeover talks and the potential money and excitement this brings, just how far behind we are again as a club with little to no sign of it changing. But again you're making this wild, unsubstantiated assumption that clubs being in take...

Nelson has had all season (and some of last) to "get going". I think we can safely assume he's not going to get any sharper than he is now.

Just read about the takeover at Blyth and how they are already planning for new players next season. Totally get that it does not guarantee success but my god it helps. Re: Any new faces

That was my point. Gowling signed a crock in Asante. Watson signed a crock in Barrow. Very little difference in the last 12 months for the pair of them, but you can't say Asante was typical of the type of player Gowling brought in. Sometimes players who have been injured work out, sometimes they do...
