Re: Darlington V Kidderminster 25.02.2023
I would say that we are weaker than we were earlier in the season when we played them. We have lost a bit of potency in front of goal and defensively are more fragile. We haven't really replaced Beck or Dodds adequately and although the young loan players brought in are doing a job, it feels like th...

Re: Darlington V Telford
I'm pleased that Hazel is proving the doubters wrong (me included a few weeks ago). I think we are seeing the confident striker he can be and was at Whitby, he has stepped up to this level. I hope that he is one we can hold on to whatever happens at the end of the season, whether we gain promotion o...

Wonder if there is a case for them being kicked out of the competition, there are rules and regulations to abide by and financial breaches can be punished with expulsion?

Re: Darlington v Chorley 07/01/23
It'll be a damp one, expecting a crowd of around 1500ish. As for the game itself I'm pretty confident we can win this one 2-1 or 3-1. We are in relatively good form and statistically we are capable of scoring at least 2 goals per match (50 from 25 matches) with a trio of players in great goal scorin...

Re: Scarborough Away - Mon 2nd Jan (SOLD OUT)
Without sounding like I don't condone some of the behavior reported today, I would say that this thing will still occur while the sport is in some sort of transition and it is unfortunately where we are at the moment where the men and women games are mixing. Some things are said in the heat of the m...

What I'm not getting is when 'seat-gate' happened wasn't the criteria met to allow us to play at National League level? If not, then why are we even attempting to make a promotion challenge knowing that potentially we'd be demoted without a ground meeting just the bare minimum?

Re: JOE LEESLEY
Saw a few damning posts by some supporters on Twitter asking for the club to make a statement on why we didn't sign Leesley. To those I say the club simply doesn't have the sustainable finances to stretch that far. The hard face of it is that we are hamstrung by the current setup, however for the sa...

Looking forward to seeing their finances after a disastrous summer of recruitment. I’m sure they’ll throw some money at their relegation scrap. They have already started that, throwing money behind signing Paul Blackett from Gateshead and then taking Isiah Cornet on loan from Middlesbrough. Even Ai...

Re: Darlington vs. Leamington
A draw stops the run of defeats if you can call two on the trot a run. 1-1 against Leamington this season is nothing to be too upset about as they are one of a number of improved teams like we have been up to now. It is a little concerning that the goals have dried up a bit and no one else has stepp...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Another disappointing result tonight from a game we probably shouldn't have lost. However, again I think we do need to put everything into some sort of perspective. We are and somehow still 2nd in a very competitive league, probably higher than we all thought we would be at this point in the season ...

Re: Winger
One reflection one in one out this week probably has a marginal effect on the budget. Therefore with Maddison already gone is a bit worrying we're still over budget? Which is why an FA cup run is important for a club like ours and that defeat to Hyde still irks me because at this moment in time bon...

Re: Darlington V Brackley
Assistant refs were hardly use nor ornament & ref bought every slip & prattfall from them in 2nd half. Poor Beck hardly had a decision go his way all day despite being sandwiched, pulled, elbowed & plain fouled all the game. Usual Darlo stunt of getting a decent crowd & chucking vital points away w...

Re: Darlington V Brackley
Before the game we'd have probably taken a point, the manner of the equaliser makes it feel more like 2pts dropped. Literally a game of two halves.
However, it could be worse look at Spenny and Hartlepool...I think at the moment we should be grateful for being joint top at the moment.

Re: Darlington V Brackley
Brackley have been a bit of a bogey team for us at Blackwell since being in the same league together. They have a decent record in this fixture, so the past suggests either a Darlo defeat or at best a draw. However, in terms of the current season we could still get the 3pts, which would set up next ...

Missed opportunities in many ways. One being to progress in the cup and earn a valuable money making run. Secondly highlighting the fact that beyond Beck not enough cutting edge up top to take in game opportunities and here is a question, is Hazel capable at this level?

Something's got to give in the cup on Saturday. It's Hyde United (with six wins on the bounce) V Darlington (six wins on the bounce). Looks like being a tough one this and we'll have to be right up for it. Both 6 wins on the bounce, an identical league record so far 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats, a...

Re: Darlo v Peterborough Sports
Sounded like a good game all round in the main, defensively solid and taking chances through Beck when they present themselves. We have a good bit of momentum going currently, but maybe my only criticism would be not sharing the goals around as without super Becks we'd be struggling in my opinion.

I know the crowds aren't great at this stage of the competition but it must be a bit demoralising for Peterborough Sports that a grand total of 217 turned up for last night's match. They had put appeals out for locals to turn out in force for their big cuo match and were rewarded with that. Must be...
