Re: Darlington v Southport
Interesting comments from the Southport manager in regards to the size of the pitch https://youtu.be/n8ldVxX9A1g I also notice that he said that our team "did cheat a little bit", which is rather rich considering the way they behaved at the penalty, surrounding KDS, trying to put him off, with one ...

Re: Darlington v Southport
Really enjoyed that performance tonight. Deserved a victory and should have won by a wider margin. Cassidy was excellent in my opinion. Well taken goal and a handful for their defenders throughout. Exactly the type of performance we were missing when they thumped us at their place. Looking at the r...

Re: Building for Season 2022/23
Realistically we would probably need to win 8 of our last 10 games to make the playoffs, so it looks unlikely. Similarly, we are 15 points off the bottom so relegation can be ruled out. Looks like our main focus now is to concentrate on building for next season. I think it is possible we could see ...

Talking of Wheatley I see that he scored yesterday in a 2-1 win at Shildon, the other Marske goal coming from ex-Darlington player Kevin Burgess.

Re: Luke charman
For those who were concerned that the fee for Luke was a one off with no potential for future sell on payments, there was a hint in last night's interview with AA that there was more than just the bare fee that was agreed.

Re: Charman ban stands
If the case we made was simply that it wasn't an elbow I am not surprised it failed. It feels a little naive to simply argue the nuance rather than categorically detailing why objectively the decision was incorrect in law. Do you know that the focus of our appeal was on whether or not an elbow was ...

Re: Charman ban stands
VIOLENT CONDUCT Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made. In addition, a pl...

I wonder if this is also something of an admission that Andrew Nelson is a lost cause and is unlikely to play any further part this season.

"Oh and joe Tait, what an awful attitude to football and possibly life. His approach is to try and wind up the opposition through childish comments and then try and get people sent off. Waving imaginary cards at the referee and celebrating a sending off like he has scored a goal. Terrible attitude ...

No the bottom 20% get removed from the list at the end of the season. In the same way the bottom however many teams get relegated at the end of each season based on performance over the season. And if you don't finish in top 50% for any of last 3 seasons you also get removed for clogging up the lis...

And yet he clearly saw an elbow? That didn't actually happen of course. We had two officials on that side of the pitch while violent conduct occurs over several seconds and yet the real victim is sent off for an elbow that didn't happen. You are defending the indefensible. " Its only him that suffe...

Re: Spennymoor game
I am rather surprised myself at some of the convoluted reasoning being employed above. On the one hand we are being asked to accept that the ref and assistant are excused for not getting every decision correct as they are not super human and cannot see when Curtis is committing his foul as they were...

Re: Spennymoor game
Charman does no more than push Curtis in the back in an effort to get clear of what was a pretty ugly assault. If that kind of push is worthy of a red card then every corner at every football match should produced a hat full of red cards as the shoving that goes on there is frequently more violent t...

Tim Hickman's excellent photographs of the Curtis/Charman incident are even more damning than the video evidence. Curtis should be held to account for this terrible assault.

Glad to see another no nonsense defender brought in. Not clear if this is just a temporary cover for Jake Cooper's absence, but this does mean that we have potentially 5 centre backs to fit two slots, which looks like someone will have to make way. Taylor and Beeden look as if they are now more like...

Re: Fan owned club
I don't see this perceived anti-investor sentiment at the club except perhaps in the case of one individual who very nearly destroyed us. It hasn't been just one person though. There have been numerous administrations and numerous villains at Darlo and it's the same at other clubs too, take Bury fo...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton
Watching the highlights (not particularly pretty). Agree with the sentiments we were bullied at CB, Rhead will be a handful for lots of CBs this season if he stays fit but in reality we didn't really lay a glove on him. Saying that the first two goals are on Charman, unfortunately, loses his man on...

Might as well use this as match thread. Very excited for tomorrow and to get the season underway. Let's hope the team can live up to the expectation that I'm sure will be there as its first game back after such a long period of time and that plenty of fans get down to BM to show their support. Will...

Actually Spen may have a point, albeit tangentially. If this gambling site is a jonny come lately the club might consider suing them over the misuse of the Mr Q identity. Does this mean that the Brackley game will be off as well? Yes. 10 days isolation for the whole squad. Massive disappointment but Covid still a big problem. Possible silver lining gives AA more time to bring in another defender. Good job the NLN fixtures mean there are plenty of available Tuesday n...

Re: Reminder Fans Forum tonight
We could still have had Campbell here, and there would have been adequate budget to sign Nelson. To say that you would rather have Nelson (who hasn’t played in a year) over Campbell AND Maguire is just a little biased, IMO. Campbell was one of our most best players over the last couple of years and...

I’d ask what team people think we’ll play but I don’t think there are that many options depending on trialists available. But the actually words in the article which that is based on "Mark Ives is very good.". Re: Integrity in the National League!!
I thought that one of main objections to the formation of the Super League was that there was no jeopardy for failing teams as there would be no relegation. They more or less decried this as fundamentally undermining the whole essence of competition and is not what sport should be about. Yet this is...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game
Genuine question regarding the points deduction. When it says suspended does that mean suspended and only to be implemented if we transgress again or does it mean suspended until next season so that we will start on -2 points in August? I had assumed it was the former but can not find clarification...
