Are you saying their debts are one-offs rather than operational?

Re: The Areana

The council love Mowden and have never done fuck all for DFC. I expect that to continue for ever more. By the way, I'd rather play at the Arena than BM - lesser of two evils - so no anti-moving to the Arena agenda here. I get where you are coming from, and actually agree with you RE the council. Bu...

Par for the course, we’ve been there and had that. Good luck to them but it won’t be easy. I totally agree we have the means to help the finances in place already, if you have or want to put more monies into the club then dropping it into the buckets or paying a lump sum over into darlington FC bank account, or back the budget are all equally good for the future running of our club ,we d...

Re: Democracy under threat.

That said, rather than another referendum, i'd sooner we entered an arrangement like the EFTA. Which does all of those things, but leaves the political union. I think it's a compromise, that doesn't require another nasty, hateful vote, and it compensates for some of the (to my mind, more reasonable...

We should have come out the day's after the vote no question. Then started the shenanigans of what free trade deals and more measured thinking from the EU to what they could/want to save from the fiasco of EU meddling ripping off the UK for as much as they can get to uphold the failure of the Europ...

Lots of it just sounds airy-fairy like a "Sporting Centre of Excellence" and a "Village Green". It mentions a leisure centre but there's already one in the town, there are track and field facilities elsewhere in the town, there doesn't seem to be much in terms of attracting the biggest sporting clu...

Sorry, but by the very meaning of the word democracy you can not have a change in the peoples wishes until you have delivered them. Really? Not in any dictionary I’ve seen. Re: Democracy under threat.

There should not be another vote just to appease the remainers. The vote was out that should happen. That is democracy. Exactly, you can bet your bottom dollar that if the vote had been to remain, they the anti-brexit people wouldn't countenance a second referendum. It would not have been even thou...

We are fan owned it seems some fans think that we should overspend to attain higher league status, I for one think building slowly with cash that can be raised at any given time is the only sustainable way forward. So Pete if there was a second referendum and the people voted to remain in the EU, would you be happy if the brexit people forced a third refendum? Where I work or don't has no bearing on the fact that a vote was made to leave the EU, I believe that was the point of the vote or am I missing something, we managed well enough without the EU meddling for centuries, Free trade agreements are the best way forward, making our own laws and controllin...

Re: Democracy under threat.

Quaker Pete, using figures in that manner does not always work. I can "prove" I have 11 fingers and thumbs. (I haven't), but can prove I have by manipulating the figures. You say our imports are spread between 27 countries. How many of those 27 do we actually trade with? Also to what extent. Take o...

Granted it will be tough in the short term, but in the medium to long term, the country will flourish. Europe will still want to trade with us, but we will now have the opportunity to do trade deals with numerous other countries. The prophets of doom if we leave in a hard brexit are vastly overstat...

Re: Democracy under threat.

No, I would only want a hard brexit if Theresa May's proposal is voted down for a third time, as seems likely. I think Labour's lack of direction will come back to haunt them. I feel that a deal is far more important to the EU than us and after initial problems we will thrive and prosper. The peopl...
