Re: More local competition for good players now at Blyth
I shuddered when I read the sleeping giant line, I remember a certain ex owner of ours saying the same thing about us! Hope he turns out to be more like their previous owner rather than the three owners of the apocalypse that we had leading up to 2012. Good luck to them, it’s a smashing away day! R...

Where’s Windass, ? Anyone. Not that he’s a big miss, just someone else on the wage bill I suppose. Gone I think He trained last week , not sure if things have changed now Squad looks really thin at the minute with the amount of injuries , I’m really surprised we haven’t got anyone in on loan as yet...

Re: Darlington v Buxton
Another really insightful update! Again no mention of new signings or clarification on injuries - I find it staggering that these questions aren’t asked. SW appears the type of straight talking manager who would say it exactly as it is so surely just ask ? Or do we really think that keeping this in...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Sick and tired of saying it but we are asking players to play in positions that don't suit them. Nelson and Main would be best suited in a two up front formation, not all this someone in the hole bollocks that we seem to have persisted with for nearly a year under 3 managers, when it doesn't work w...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Nelson's had a tough time with injuries - plus it's only 4 years ago I saw him at Tynecastle scoring the winning goal for Dundee v Hearts in the scottish prem in front of 15,500 people. can only hope Steve Watson can get into his head and turn him around. Lengthy layoffs and knee injuries can be ha...

No brainer for me, and would rather focus on bringing in a good attacking midfielder or striker.LoidLucan wrote:I would get Sukar recalled if we can, simple as that. He'll do a job for us. I think that's a better bet than some emergency, untried Academy kid at this stage.

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
I see Siddik went off with a hamstring injury tonight. It appears he missed 9 months in 22/23 with a serious hamstring injury whilst at Crystal Palace. Another player who cannot stay fit. Thank you, Josh Gowling. This season has been one big - totally unavoidable - nightmare. And apparently Sukar i...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Curry needs to be in the starting 11. Main works hard and is an asset, but we need someone who can finish alongside him and that ain’t Nelson. Yes, sadly Nella has had his chance but looks like he blew it tonight.Has to be Curry unless our wonder signing makes a guest appearance starting Saturday a...

Did Siddick go off injured, if so that's him and Lawlor probably out for Saturday which only leaves Lees.Wonder if Sukar is recalled, if not we are up the creek.Things are very quiet on potential signings, surely there must be players somewhere who can strengthen us and willing to come so what the h...

2 things here, why on earth extend Sukar’s loan for a further month with Lawlor picking up injuries repeatedly, and yet again that total waste of space missing yet again.Old Git wrote:Taylor, Lawlor and Asante all ruled out with injuries tonight.

Re: South Shields v Darlo
Nah, it was a brutal, disgraceful lunge, deserving of a 10-match ban. I say that in the spirit of pointing out that the Shields fans were Premier League standard whiners, who moaned at everything, stormed out of the ground en masse as soon as we had the audacity to score, have since called us the w...

Agreed LMQuaker - we should really know what the situation is. Is he injured? Refusing to play? For Asante to be missing today & for the club to just blatantly ignore this in the preview & PMI is appalling. Asante is one of our best paid players since becoming fan-owned. What is going on? The silen...

Fantastic result, not always easy playing against 10 men (then 9) but seems like a very professional performance.A good result against Boston would work wonders, and with 42 points to play for we have a chance.

So in the same week that Spenny sign Brad James, Matty Dolan, Lufudu and another attacking midfielder we sign an emergency 17 yr old keeper on loan for a month. Re: Any new faces
As I have said before, if we cant sign good players when we are top then what chance when we are second bottom? Not many players are going to commit themselves to us on a permanent deal when we could well be in the NPL next season. It wouldn't surprise me if Main has a release clause if we go down....

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
The defence as a unit, including TT, I feel has improved under SW. We just need to find the key at the other end of the pitch. Still no sign of any new faces which is worrying, seems like quite a few have turned us down because of our league position plus we have the bigger problem of Spenny and po...

Billy Heath didn't think we were woeful. He said: "They are a different team to what they were a month ago. They played some good stuff and put us under a lot of pressure. They didn't look like a side where they are in the league. But we were back to our difficult best. We are a difficult side to p...

Bottom line is that the players are not strong enough, fit enough and just blatantly not good enough to keep us in this league.
