Re: Telford v Darlo
On AAs grumbles with fans, I think he's more having a go at a few of the idiots at the game. I had a right go at one who was in particular singling Lambert out last week. Yes, everyone has a grumble at players, but shouting vitriol at them isn't going to help make them play better.

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Sorry my perceived dig at Tommy was very much tongue in cheek and aimed at the give people a chance brigade. The first person on the team sheet each week should always be Tommy. On Cartman if my very wobbly memory serves me correctly, Cartman and Beck rarely played together. I'm sure I debated it at...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
Haha no I'm not who you might think I am. For all his faults he was much more eloquent. PorterDFC, if Hazel was played instead of Beck it would mean Beck had been dropped. That's clearly obvious whether you agree with Hazel having a chance or not. For the record I'm not advocating Beck can never be ...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
So because you think Hazel hasn't been given a fair chance, your answer is to drop Beck the 2nd highest scorer in the league? You're not really suggesting that are you?

Re: Buxton v Darlo
There really are some strange people on here. Dropping our top goal scorer now so we can shoehorn Hazel into his preferred position is the daftest thing I've heard since the same poster said Alun should have had a go at the team at half time when we were 2-0 up against Brackley.

Re: Darlington V Brackley
Being 2-0 up at half time and then expecting AA to rollick them because the other team will have been, could be the dumbest things I’ve read on here for along time. In contrast though saying we should have changed formation after they had changed to 3-5-2 is totally acceptable. I know it’s easy to s...

Re: FA Cup Q3
Although I totally agree Wheater should have gone off straight away, the Griffiths injury on Tuesday was not the same. There was no break in play at all and Griffiths went off at the first opportunity.

Re: Darlington V Southport FA Cup
In the highlights alone Hedley broke up play even against Southports best player on the day, so to say it was his worst game in a couple of years is a bit harsh. As I said in my earlier post, our full backs are getting little support from others on the team. When we go forward our wingers are double...

Re: Darlington V Southport FA Cup
The problem for both our full backs is that they get very little support. The 2nd goal aside Hedley was decent yesterday against a very good winger.

Re: Darlington V Southport FA Cup
One of those that's a bit harsh on the defender because Felix cuts across him and gets his ankle clipped accidentally, but that's still a foul and as no attempt was made to get the ball it has to be a red card no ifs no buts. The defender doesn't really make any effort to plead his innocence either.

Re: BRADFORD P.A. MATCH
I must watch a different game at times because I thought we battered them in the first half and although we didn't make too many clear cut chances we had enough to be leading. We also put a number of quality crosses in, more than any other match this season. Although I agree to a certain extent with...

Re: Is football cancelled?
The anti monarchy percentage is actually less than 25%, although a higher proportion of this are younger people. The thing is there are a lot of people who are disgruntled by the fact football has been cancelled this week, but if it hadn't a percentage of people would have been equally disgruntled. ...

Re: Is football cancelled?
Again I have no problem with people having the opinion about cancelling football matches, but it feels to me that a minority are going over the top about it. I very much doubt peoples lasting memories of the Queens death will be how you describe Lo. Although I appreciate some people will be counting...

Lawman, although I respect your views you do appear to be going slightly over the top. You’re not being forced to mourn, you can go about your daily business, you’re NOT living in Russia. If you don’t want to engage with what is happening, then you don’t have to, you have a choice . The only thing t...

It's quite comforting that Lo agrees with most on here that you can see why both decisions have been given, but based on what you see every week, both are quite harsh.

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
The ball was definitely out of play, but Lambert was still going for it if that makes sense, it was one fluid movement. Their coach/Morley should not have gone for it.

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
I’m not sure it was Morley who took Lambert out, they have a coach who looks very similar, I thought it was him. It looked like Morley was saying the ball was off the pitch, but Lambert was still trying to get the ball in the same movement after he lost control of it. It looked like Ramshaw shoved A...

Re: Chorley V Darlington
Definitely onside and Beck isn’t fouled. If you give that, then you disallow our first against Gloucester last week when Hazel challenges with the keeper and he ends up on the ground. Hedley could have stepped and Purver is a little eager in going in for the challenge knowing Lawler is out of positi...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester
First half an hour we were second best, but that might have been the team getting used to the midfield diamond formation (which we played for a short period against Whitby, not just on Thursday night during training). Once Purver and Lambert got into the game so did we. Although I agree we were play...

Re: Whitby 30th July 2022
Rose was there today and was doing some work with Danny. His thigh was strapped and his running looked a bit laboured, so might be a few weeks away. Rivers also doing some work as well looked to be running much more freely, so he maybe ok for next week.

Re: Lawlor signs 2 year deal
This is great news, he was one of the essential signings I've been wanting, Lamberts the next one on the list for me now. I was worried that Spenny might have been eyeing up Lawlor, so getting him signed up is a big plus. For me it's a no getting Ellis signed up, I don't think he's that good. Howeve...

Re: Signings
Finding a Cassidy type player who also scores goals is going to be difficult. AA was in for Mark Beck last year, but even he only scored 3 goals in 18 appearances this season. I would have thought AA will be looking for a similar type of player because he's mentioned Cassidys lack of goals a few tim...

Well you are clearly saying something. O’Neill was injured last week and we we already had several out so maybe AA didn’t want to risk him. Also I suspect he kept Cassidy on because Alfreton only play one way. I’m not saying anything like, oh hang on maybe I am.

Re: Darlington v Boston 26/03/22
Boston we're she'll shocked when they went 2-0 down and they were fighting amongst themselves several times after that. I thought they would get a right rollicking at half time and so it appears. They did better in the second half but it was very route one, get the ball from back to front as quickly...

Re: Darlington V Chester
Funny you say about the ref having a good game, i thought he was very poor, but for Chester. I thought he gave us much more and apart from the last 5 minutes when he was clearly annoyed with our time wasting, gave them very little. I realise this sounds very weird, but we can’t knock refs for being ...
