Re: Boost the budget
Awesome start as to be expected. I will be increasing my pledge slightly because I believe that Alun will spend wisely on good players, as shown last season. One slight misgiving is no target has been set, why? Darlo fans love a target. Another slight concern is it comes across a bit defeatist when...

The club are looking at this for everyone who holds any sort of season / flexi / pay monthly ticket now that confirmation has been given that the season has now finished.

There'll be a tightening of the belt all round. I see that Raj Singh is indicating that "under a new structure there will be a significant need for volunteers to supplement the club employees in both the day to day running of the club and on match days." Oh dear, sounds to me like he's getting the ...

Re: BTB
will fans be able to afford as much this summer with many on furlough or financially unstable themselves? The simple answer will be no. I expect BTB will drop this year as a result the, difficult part is predicting how much. Playing budgets will be down across the board meaning players at most club...

Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'
I see the target has been halved. Bit disappointing when others have managed 20k easily (eg Altrincham) and they aren't fan owned. Maybe Alty fans aren’t also paying into a boost the budget scheme like a lot of us are. Exactly! The £20K was always a soft target anyway based on the projective revenu...

Re: The Feethams pitch
Yeh no where near as bad as I remember. I think I just have lasting bad memories of Simon Betts and Steven Harper. Brightwell, Marcelle, Harper all taken from Hull when they were in the s***. Awful players for us. Shame as Harper when at Mansfield looked an excellent player, no doubt helped by the ...

Re: Polish announcement
I don’t think it’ll be far wrong. I can’t see how you can have social gatherings of more than a handful before a vaccine is available. I’m sure football will be played before then but it won’t be in front of fans, at least not in person anyway.

Re: The Feethams pitch
It was exacerbated by the building of the new East stand in 1997 which likely broke some drainage.
Loved that stand but could be argued it was the beginning of the end for DFC as we knew it.

Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'
Rent payments are usually monthly rather than per game but I’ve no idea if we’ve suspended payments since we’ve been unable to play. I expect the contract doesn’t have anything written into it regarding pandemics so it could probably be argued either way. I know DRFC have loan commitments which the ...

Re: National League thanks Premier League
£2m is the payment that filters down to the 3 national leagues, split by 60 odd clubs so obviously doesn’t go very far. £30K per club if split equally which it isn’t as the north and south divisions get significantly less. £13,600 is our share. Also as stated it’s an advance so whilst it will go som...

I think we had a midfielder called Mike Robinson who never played again. If it is the same one he was called Neil Robinson and I see to recall he was a vegan, so didn’t wear leather football boots. Isn’t it odd the things you remember (assuming I’m right of course). Yes it was Neil Robinson, came i...

Re: season tickets on sale
If that is the case then season ticket prices have risen. By maybe £25, I could be wrong... Ticket prices were obviously set and started to be sold before any of this kicked off and whilst it’s highly likely that the league won’t be expanded to 23 teams given the planned nullification of the divisi...

Re: season tickets on sale
Almost halfway to this seasons total, it’s only the first week in April and no one has a clue when we might see another game of football. It’s a good effort and brought in much needed cash.

If we effectively only have a license to play at Blackwell, and pay so much a game - do we still have any liability? We don’t own the ground or any part of it. I don’t wish any problems onto the rugby club but the Government have closed football down so are we liable for rent on something we can’t ...

According to the latest published accounts:
Turnover: £677K

Costs were £800K

It can still be run online if needed where staff can be protected.
A lot of small businesses if they can will need to diversify to survive. Pubs and restaurants need to look at providing delivery services whilst they still can at least.

York have called there game off apparently. Wonder if they were worried about altringham, or want to see how kings lynn get on before playing or actually the virus? Or maybe they just thought what’s the point exposing players, staff and fans if we don’t have to In that case we better close the leag...

It'll be the last chance to see us for some time, although living near Boston I'm hoping I may have the chance on Tuesday. Yes I am serious. League won’t start again until August/September. All sorts of issues to iron out with playing contracts etc. Given our PT status and players generally on shorter contracts they may even be a different approach to teams in the league. Re: Coronavirus and DFC
It does seem strange to hold this game today. It seems that there will be a long lay off with two options at the end of it. Either to declare a kind of ghost season or to ram a load of matches in mid summer. Either way todays game seems a bit pointless. Agreed. The only point of today’s game would ...

I think realistically we’re looking at September before we can get back to any sort of normality. It’s going to be a long, tough 6 months, the like of which many will never have experienced before.

Re: AGM
Yes, BUT you do have to consider that BTB and DJ investment would have formed part of the playing budget calcs.
But yeah on the bare face of it, without £150K investment from the owners every season we’d probably not be able to compete at this level.
