Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

50 years, what you point out re Nelson. Yes he is always busy, gets into scoring positions, looks good on the ball, works hard but sadly, on saying all of that - it very rarely leads to anything.

We might as well have great big lump up front who occasionally nods one in from a corner.

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Has anyone else noticed how quiet D.J. is?

To me he seems to be keeping a very low profile.

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Curry needs to be in the starting 11.

Main works hard and is an asset, but we need someone who can finish alongside him and that ain’t Nelson.

It sounds on the radio like Nelson missed a couple of great chances. He never seems to produce.

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24

Marriott has hardly played this season due to injury … sound familiar ?? I bet he'll be fit enough tonight though. Unlike our missing superstar. Our superstar will pop up with the goal that saves us from relegation .. I have seen it If I see it, I hope my ancient old heart will take the excitement.

On another point, their goalkeeper was pretty awful on all the goals, I can only imagine the grief TT would have received from some of our goalkeeping experts for letting them in.
I've just watched the highlights and yes, their goalkeeper - maybe he should stick to the day job.

It looks like the new goalie is a good luck charm. He’s had a day to remember.

We can’t even find a replacement for Mr Q. That’s how far things have slipped.

By memory he was last seen when we were playing well - yep, that long ago….

Let's not throw the baby out of the bath water because we are on the verge of being relegated to the NPL. I am always intrigued as to why people want to risk selling to a private investor (of which, there aren't many) to what end? To reach the National League? The Football League? And then what? We...

Re: Any new faces

If we don’t have any decent new forward thinking players this week then we may as well concede to relegation. Still cannot fathom how with their connections over years of playing and coaching they have not dealt with the problem. Know it’s harder when you are a struggling team, get that, but JG wou...

One thing I think we can all agree on is Watson MUST stay.

It's been a perfect storm of problems made worse by J.G. - it would seem he is the Liz Truss of Darlington football Club.

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

Just to drift off topic for a minute - during Covid, when DFC officials phoned up fans, I was lucky enough to take a call from Alun. He went above and beyond boxing ticking too because he was on for about an hour, and we had a right good natter about Darlo - he was amenable/candid. I'll always be gr...

Re: Blue card & sin bins

Referees surely have enough powers now.

Saturday’s game is a good example, if the ref had cracked down early on Alfreton’s cheating, skullduggery and time wasting then we might have been able to watch a game of football.

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll

If we'd stuck the £30,000 on it to win how much would we have got? £105,000 I got 3/1 early last night so £90k for bet plus the £30k stake = £120k, so depending on time of bet. And the horse romped home, may be our team can now follow that example :D That horse is having a hell of a season and seem...

I think sometimes we forget that players can’t just put their feet up and rest between games, most likely Tommy have to do their day job as well.

There should always be a goalie on the bench IMO. It nearly cost us on Saturday and it arguably did cost us Alfreton's second goal according to S.W.

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24

On the Alfreton official site their report says that the red card incident was a case of mistaken identity, however I’m not so sure. It looked like the player involved got a soft yellow for time wasting, play acting or possibly even dissent. Did anyone get a close up view of this? The Ref was a spa...

Before the next BTB, I'd like the club to confirm that the money put into the budget from other sources won't be cut. It seems that the more we put in, the money that comes from other sources and the club goes down. If we raise a record BTB, then we should have a record playing budget. https://yout...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24

Heath must know that a lot of referees at this level aren’t strong enough or shrewd enough to deal with the professional standard of shithousery that he has drilled into his players. It was funny yesterday when the referee dished out a soft yellow for time wasting, having forgotten about that player...
