Re: Darlington v Southport

Really enjoyed that performance tonight. Deserved a victory and should have won by a wider margin. Cassidy was excellent in my opinion. Well taken goal and a handful for their defenders throughout. Exactly the type of performance we were missing when they thumped us at their place. Looking at the r...

Re: Will Hatfield

Another factor on him going I think is where we are in the League. If we were sitting pretty in the playoffs with a chance of going up I don't think he would have gone. I've just listened to the James Rowe (Fylde manager) after their win at Spenny, and he said he has tried to sign Will in the past ...

Bit of a surprise to say the least but apparently offered fantastic money and a chance to go back full time. Didn’t think for one minute that he would be tempted away for full time football at his age. Just shows you how much money talks and how little loyalty most players have to clubs these days....

Re: Building for Season 2022/23

I would keep Taylor, Hedley, Smith, Wheater, Ellis, Rose, Hatfield, KDS, Lambert, Mondal , Moke (don't know); like to keep Wheatley and Storey but believe lack of play even when been reasonable in the team they will eventually move on. Lawlor, Thompson and Oneil good signings but can we afford them...

Re: Darlo v Blyth

Four wins from five, five games unbeaten, two against sides chasing promotion and clean sheets in the last two games. Just not good enough. Why are we not putting four and five past sides like Fylde and Chorley? It's clear we can't score goals at one end and stop them at the other. And the players j...

Alun out.

Can't believe we only scored twice away from home at one of the league's top teams and failed to keep a clean sheet.

He's not the man to take us forward for the next season.

Lost the dressing room, I tell you. Lost the dressing room, he has.

Re: Darlington V Chester

So we won - an excellent three points and full credit to AA and the team. Have to say that I thought we were never going to win again as AA had put the dressing room somewhere and couldn't find it, the players didn't want to play for him, he hadn't been able to unearth a 30-goal a season striker sin...

He was very scathing about the critics who slagged him off for meeting with Nadine Dorries, saying he would meet with The Monster Raving Loony Party if it furthered the interests of Darlington FC. Exactly. It was embarrassing and maddening reading the comments aimed towards the club and Nadine Dorr...

Glad AA decided against resignation as finding a decent replacement for him mid-season would be a problem.
No reason for him to. It was an awful result, agreed.

Two games earlier we won 6-0 way from home. Nobody was questioning him then.

Do you know that the focus of our appeal was on whether or not an elbow was used? If you do not know and are just speculating, why not assume that the appeal was against any contact by Charman being insignificant or not in contact with the head? Just interested to know if there is a source document...

I am not a conservative or a Boris lover. But, let's be right about this. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Wonder if it would be a good idea for him to go out on loan to a lower level team to test his fitness. A month in the Northern League to get some game time and hopefully bag a few goals might just be what he needs to kick start his career. If after 5 months of rehab training with us you have to won...

Note how they edited out the appalling tackle on Lambert just before the penalty. Was it a particular highlight of the match - a foul? There was no caution for a tackle on Lambert before the penalty so assume it wasn't that stand out? Or are you perhaps showing a little bit of bias there in a persp...

What goes through the mind of a player to get involved in a sending-off incident in the final minute of a game when you are 3-0 down? Bizarre. The red card I got in the final few minutes for deliberate handball at 6-0 down in my Yarm Town Boys' days back in the early-90s springs to mind here. And t...

As if it wasn’t a bad enough evening we will now be without Charman. I wonder if there's been some history behind the sendings off at the end. The Southport player Bainbridge and Charman had apparently been having words earlier before the red cards. Bainbridge played for Sunderland under-23s when C...

We, ie our management team, have to be 100 per cent sure that Wheater has regained his motivation for the game and has overcome his 'niggling' injury before we sign him. He will be high budget and the signing of a similar experienced central defender last season didn't exactly work out too well.......
