Re: Alun Armstrong comments
Sadly Jack Lambert isn't the answer to our problems......he is only a small part of an answer. There are too many players underperforming - and pinning our hopes on one player is unfair on that player. As good as he is, he is returning from injury. The impact will be minimal. A fit Lambert is one o...

Re: South Shields
Not a chance South Shields will go straight through the NLN. It’s taken them a few seasons to conquer the NPL with being full time and having Geoff Thompson bankrolling them. It remains to be seen how deep his pockets are Not sure I agree with the 'it's taken them a few seasons...' comment. Didn't ...

Re: Blyth v Darlo
I don't feel like we get the attacking threat from Sukar at LB. That's not a dig at him, but it's clear that Newell is very good going forward. I'd have Newell in at LB and Sukar to CB. The only thing I don't know is whether Newell's confidence is where it needs to be as he made a mistake against Fa...

Re: Will we even make the play-offs?
My team for Friday, I’m assuming those players injured aren’t available. Rivers should be fit for Friday. Taylor Hedley lawlor Cooper Sukar Rivers Moke Purver Felix Hazel Nelson 442 basically, wide players doing what they do best, stretching their defence getting balls in the box. Playing to our st...

Re: Hereford Saturday
Much better today and a relatively comfortable win by our standards. Hopefully, we can keep hold of Cooper, because I think he could form a useful central defensive partnership with Sukar. They have to be the future, not Lawlor and Wheater. Great to see Hazel and Nelson both on the scoresheet, and ...

Re: Andrew Nelson signs again
It’s not a big gamble. He may well have signed on non-contract terms, but even if he has signed a contract, it will only be until the end of the season (i.e. 8 weeks away). Of course, you don't know that for sure as the details haven't been released. He might be on a 6 year contract for all we know...

Re: Darlington V Southport
Referee must have had a reasonable game as I can’t remember too many bad decisions, which is not always the case. Apart from the booking for Lawlor where both players seemed to miss the ball and collide with each other. Very harsh to blame one player when both were at fault. I wouldn't call it 'at ...

Re: Lambert attracting attention
Cue ridiculous offer from Raj followed by dummy hurtling across the room like a rocket when something more sensible comes in :D Heard a rumour at the Scarborough game Singh had offered £10k for Jack which is pretty insulting as he is reluctant to pay big transfer fees. Worse than that. Raj offered ...

Re: Spennymoor Saturday
Thought Dodds and Sukar were both excellent up against Taylor. Sukar has been very good since the first few games which I'll admit I wasn't sure about him. Squad is small like, only managed to name 5 on the bench when we could have 7. Think we were missing Wheater, Lawlor and Mondal. Any idea why Mo...

Think he played against us for Blyth last season (possibly around March). From memory, he was small and stocky but very difficult to get the ball off. Thought he played well against us

Good from the club on this. Got it done nice and early, so no drama (unlike others over the last week or so)

One reflection one in one out this week probably has a marginal effect on the budget. Therefore with Maddison already gone is a bit worrying we're still over budget? Which is why an FA cup run is important for a club like ours and that defeat to Hyde still irks me because at this moment in time bon...

Re: Darlo v Peterborough Sports
some things that impressed me (not necessarily on the playing side). When Beck got clattered, our players ran in to a) protect and b) have a go at the ref for the poor challenge. Always see teams do that against us but we rarely seem to do this. The togetherness of the team seemed a lot better. Tomm...

Re: August thoughts
pretty much agree with opening post. Credit to the lad that does the pitch. Massive improvement. Squad looks the strongest in 10 years (although thin). Slightly disappointed with the results at Southport and home to Banbury. The Banbury one wasn't helped by 3 injuries that disrupted things, and whil...

Re: Shock as Spendy 'Both sides' trouble
I think it's a really good statement. He rightly criticises our fans who threw drink/coins, although that's almost a backstory to the issues he highlights at home. But with every club it's a very small majority of idiots at the Spenny game. We just need to make sure we don't excuse any of our fans b...

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
The fracas at the end, Morley starting in Alun and Alun completely lost it. I thought he was going to break free from the players holding him back. Spennymoor really does have some poisonous characters in its ranks. After Alun and Bernard were rightly sent off you just cannot send them both down th...

Re: Spennymoor Away (KO 1pm)
Had the referee taken action straight away against Morley I don't think that alun would have got involved as he wouldn't have needed to,the reff must take responsibility for not acting on the indiscipline from the spennymoor bench, that is where the problem stemmed from.he the referee is In charge ...

surely if they are injured, you wouldn't want to give the opposition that boost so that they can prepare for it prior to the game in their training set ups

The way he was talking you instantly wonder if he was referring to Beck or Aaron Martin in terms of the striker. Definitely alluded to it being someone playing higher and whether they were ready to drop to our level. https://www.harrogateadvertiser.co.uk/sport/football/aaron-martin-absent-from-harr...

Beck > O’Neill (by quite a decent margin IMO), however I’d be looking at both rather than 1 or the other.
