Re: Gowling MUST go!
I'm going to get pillared for this but, as bad as last night was, I don't think that result in isolation is enough to sack him. We have taken 2 wins recently and looked decent against Chester in the first half before they figured us out. We're battling at the bottom so we're going to lose games and...

Re: Gowling MUST go!
I fully accept that it was a shocking result, but I don’t think Josh should go, because there have been some green shoots of recovery in recent games, and to start again for the third time this season, when we are only in November would be daft. Everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong l...

Re: Chorley
I was angry last night and now resigned to the fact unless manager resigns we are relegated. JG signings Hannah, Robson,Windfield,Rowe,Lindley, Ngandu, Simms have been poor and not improved the squad. Watching Rowe and Lindley jumping out of tackles and Simms running like a puppy dog chasing a ballo...

Darlo v Chester
JG" we have come on leaps and bounds, since Evenwood Utd game, we have improved team confidence, we get an early goal against Chester it will make us comfortable on the ball" "we can make BM a fortress" is this guy smoking something he shouldn't be , as reality is not his strongest point data or no d...

Re: Peterborough V Darlington
Its the hope that kills you, One step forward and two steps back, If Burton doesn't extend his loan (would you?) and Hatfield or Platt pick up an injury , 3 match ban or just get worn down by rest of team not giving an arse and want a move then we are well and truly screwed. We are on an increasing ...

Mitch Curry update
We are short on goals and Mitch Curry has played less than 90 minutes in the last ten games, depending on what match preview you read he has an arm or shoulder injury. How serious is it, because we desperately require everyone we can ? didnt we have a striker who popped is shoulder back in at salfor...

Re: GOWLING OUT
JC in his Farsley prematch interview confirms TT playing in goal and little else "We have a particular styple of play but unfortunately the fans have not seen it yet" that is an understatement, six games in, what is the plan, I know what AA plan B was hoof football to Hazel who is definately not a h...

Re: GOWLING OUT
Wish we could be talking about positive wins and climbing up the table and TBH getting fed up of all this. Give Gowling until mid December and if he still hasn’t got any wins under his belt then the board need to act quickly to put someone new in for the Christmas period. If I was them I’d be sound...

Not keen when we gave away £3-4K at the Workington fa cup game letting hundreds of fans in for nothing.

Re: Goal keeper
I wonder if Tommy is going to be rested for a couple of games as I can't really see this young man wanting to come and warm the bench. Hoping this lad can be a psitive impact to the team and provide some added confidence to a weak defence, with good distribution and have a booming voice above the s...

We may have won £3k prize money but was this wiped out by the hundreds let in for nothing? Re: Darlington V Workington
I know a few fans who are apportioning a lot of blame on TT for the number of goals we have conceded. I don’t totally agree with them. No question he could command his area a bit more, but I still think he is a decent keeper. If the reserve keeper is the same one who played in preseason then we def...

Re: Alun has been sacked
We have an excellent fan-base, but not one which you would say could sustain itself as an EFL club. i disagree we have 1000 who will stick with us thru thin and thin as the lack of home wins this year has proven and an excellent away following for this level as many clubs have thanked us, and reinfo...

Re: Alun has been sacked
Bernard and Jonno for me. Relocate training towards Leeds way, opens up our pool to get more players from Leeds and Manchester area. Absolutely not a fresh face and fresh ideas that can work on a sustainable budget. Need to get crowds above 1600 to free up additional funds so that is a while away, ...

Re: Alun has been sacked
I think it's a real shame it never worked out - he got the club model, he was good at spotting players we could move on for money, and showed at times that he could put together good teams at this level. The first half of last season, with the performances and the atmosphere around the club, was as...

Didn't attend the Buxton game and looking at the highlights was this the same team that battled against South Shields? My take is that anything other than an impressive win against Boston (not 1-0) then the management team urgently need to walk away , they have tried hard but it just hasn't worked o...

Good luck to both of them and take care, it used to be boozed up fans were the challenge but observing a few chemical things passed around by fans at scunthorpe and the lack of sensible vocabulary between them it will be thankless confrontation all the time.

Re: Scunthorpe Away 15/08/23
AA has to give this system another few games but we badly need a creative, attacking midfielder to replace Liddle who has done little in the 3 games.Salkeld is not the answer either so a big problem for AA if the budget has been exhausted.Big positive tonight was Andrew Nelson and 1 goal from a cor...

Latest AA interview with Ray gets worse, more leading questions than a bent copper. "AA were looking to bounce back arent we?" "Hopefully we take our chances as we didn't last week?" Players were down last week are they up for it?" "Its down to players strong personalities isn't it?" "we did well at...

Mitchell Curry (striker)- former Boro youngster, has experience in NLN with Gateshead might be on the radar. Believe he’s been released by Harford Athetic (American club in the second tier). Re: Make or break season for AA
The club have succeeded in lowering everyone’s expectations, probably not a bad thing overall. For me we still have a hardcore of players who got us top of the league and the additions, all experienced, so far look to be an upgrade defensively which we know was our Achilles heel last season. In add...

My thoughts too. He's pretty committed-I often see him at away games and he's committed to Darlo. Maybe that's what he was told? 100%.Some of the posters on here need to think before they post absolute rubbish.Something has obviously happened with the Martin interest, possibly other clubs have offe...
